Lucy you are so right! Actually Michill seems way over the top sometimes - I found myself reaching my hand out to the TV to smack her one upside her snippy nastly mouth LOL --- of course I stopped in time - hey I don't want to hurt myself for Michill! I said at the beginning she would have to undergo a serious metamorphis before I could stand her, let alone anything close to liking her LOL ... I'm still waiting - evidently the NICE Michill - or is that an oxymoron? - is still in the cacoon; she sure hasn't yet appeared. I'm surprise this show was not overrun with complaints from the older generation [like me LOL] LOL -- they must be horrified in Korea at her character's words and actions. I'm speechless sometimes myself and I drove a cab a little while in Norfolk VA - with drunken sailors as passengers HA!

What shall we do with the drunken Michill What shall we do with the drunken Michill What shall we do with the drunken Michill Early in the morning? Shave her belly with a rusty razor Shave her belly with a rusty razor Shave her belly with a rusty razor Early in the morning! etc. In case people don't recognize the words, that's an old sea chanty. Just substitute the word "Sailor" for the name Michill.

But we know what's in store for her, don't we? Suddenly the talk about her very thin figure, and her craving for all kinds of food. The only thing that's missing so far, is the - hand over the mouth - urge to throw up. Rock - a - bye- baby.

Uh-oh, that's not going to go down well with our selfish Mi-chil. I pity any baby depending on her.

Michil rocks my socks! Best character on somewhat boring drama.

How can this show be so popular in Korea?

I think it's all the out-of-the-ordinary-but-still-can-be-real plot twists. Imagine all that drama in one family! Makes for an entertaining show, doesn't it? It keeps the viewers, IMO, wondering what's going to happen next in their tumultuous lives.

LOL ! - Michill met her match in that DitzyChick that fell of the motor mike. I almost felt sorry for her ... but had to laugh at the look on her face when DitzyChick kept droning on about how beautiful she was and how everyone wants to date her. Really high comedy ;D And when the mothers met ... What was THAT? What from their pasts made them glare at each other the way the did when they met?

Yes! And that comment, Stop invading my privacy! Like, you know I'm the only person who really exists, so what is that noise I hear while I'm on the phone? This is going to be so good for Michil to bump up against. heh, heh. ;D

Would someone be so kind as to tell me what happened on Friday? I was unable to see it. Brief notes are fine!

Michil found a job and took the bus to Chuncheong (?). She will be a nurse for a kindly ob-gyn, who also employs his niece, who is a brat like Michil. btw, M told her family that she went back to live with Ilhan, so noone knows where she is.
Hanam's mother came to Seoul and learned from Hanam that Seolchil really did not tell him about mother's disapproval. (Duh.) H asked her to come (to meet Seolchil's birthmother, but he didn't tell her that), because she thought that maybe she could get her to approve of S. But when they met, they just stared at each other. They've met before, but I couldn't figure out who was more dismayed or shocked or how they felt. But it wasn't good.
Tengchil became teary and felt empathetic towards her MIL when she realized how hard it must have been to raise Taeja by herself. MIL appreciated it. Taeja still fights the idea that his mother could like Ilhan's uncle.
Deokchil met Soohan, who told her that he was going to marry someone, for the sake of the children. He offered to let D see the kids once a month, but she turned it down because she wants the kids to get used to their stepmother first. They were very gentle with each other during their conversation.
Seolchil's mother and father both know that she's going to Iraq. So does Hanam's mother, who said she didn't want that.

Ginny, my dear, are you sure that wasn't Saturday's episode? That all sounds familiar to me, though, granted, I was drinking soju while watching that night. Thank you SO much for your effort, though! I couldn't believe the conversation with Soohan! I mean, I hate him and all, but at this point I have to say, too bad he didn't tell her before that he wanted to get back with her! The best thing for Deokchill is to leave that creepy, mean little wimp of a husband and his rotten kid. (OK, I know I can't blame the girl, but this is TV and it doesn't matter if I'm uncharitable.) Then she can get back with her own kids. Why couldn't Soohan have been honest with her? Did he really think she was remarrying because she was in love?

Yes, I was trying to remember Saturday's ep. Read your post too quickly. Michil and Ilhan met, and I had the impression she would've gone back to him, but he asked for a divorce. Tengchil had a hard time with the baby-she felt that he would cry so she had to hold him all night so he wouldn't disturb MIL (and Taeja), then dumb Tj didn't help when he woke up. TC was sleeping in the rocking chair, holding the baby, when her mother came with some food. (Which night is that, tho? I really don't know.) Part of the food was pancakes, which looked really good, and G'ma had helped herself to some while Mother's back was turned, and Mo. reprimanded her and took them away bcuz they're for Tchil. So of course G'ma goes into her You're a bad daughter schtick. Did you see Ilhan get drunk and tell Uncle that he wants Michil to come back, nothing else matters-? He was going to call her, but in the morning, he didn't want to. Mother invited Hanam to dinner, and Seolchil was mad when she got home. Mother still thought they were getting married.

Thank you very much, HwangGinny! Poor little TC. I think she's been fighting postpartum depression, but what she's going through is also explained by the selfish old ladies. I remember last week when Ttengchill had to make her own seaweed soup (which the mother is supposed to eat for at least a week after giving birth, and she shouldn't have to make it herself!!), and that stupid Taeja-omma ate a whole lot of it. Now G'ma is eating pancakes meant for Ttengchill? I hate greedy thoughtless people. Sorry, everyone, for hijacking the thread there. Back to the topic: I am glad Michill is getting these life lessons. Ilhan is a bad husband (lets her get away with everything just to keep the peace, when he should be learning how to talk to her--he married her, she's his responsibility!)--but now that he's made up his mind (sort of) to divorce her, it's doing her a world of good. I like that other nurse; she's a completely delusional idiot, only slightly worse than Michill: just enough to show Michill her own crazy reflection.
