Aigu, Izzy! We'll getcha all Koreanized! LOL.
I agree, this is not the BEST korean daily drama (that would be Yellow Handkerchief, of course), but I'm enjoying it.
What station are you viewing? Are there any other subtitled dramas for you to look at there?

Aigu?? Yes, you must get Koreanized for sure. LOL I'm watching channel 20, in NYC. (public access channel) I believe this is the only one that is sub-titled. On the weekends, they show Emperor ______ I don't remember the rest. Those type shows don't really interest me & I have not taken notice if it's subtitled. Let me know if you know of any other good ones - I'm hooked! I tell my friends & they think I'm nuts.

The "Emperor" show may be "Emperor of the Sea" OR "Emperor Wang Guhn." If it's Wang Guhn, you should really give it a try because people really, really loved it (I missed it here--they showed it before I started watching historicals). I don't know what people thought of Emperor of the Sea. After you have watched a number of these things, you will understand that your friends are not quite correct--you are not nuts, but you soon will be infected with the K-virus, and it appears incurable. However, we are similarly addicted, infected and crazy here, so you will have good company in the K-drama Kareoke Emergency Room, LOL. Here is a list of domestic K-dramas I have loved and would recommend: Yellow Handkerchief (a/k/a Yellow Ribbon), Tender Hearts, Who's My Love. A list of historicals: Age of Warriors, Dawn of Empire, Immortal Yi Soon-Shin, Dae Jang-geum (a/k/a the Great Jang-geum, Jewel in the Palace, etc.) That last is about the first woman doctor in Korea who got to treat the king, and it's kind of a cross between an historical and a daily drama. A list of oddities (not historical, not domestics) I liked: Winter Sonata (a/k/ Winter Love Song), Bodyguard, Damo. When I have some time, I'll expand on some of the differences between these and maybe think of some more. In the meantime, you should maybe dip into some of the other forums on this board and see what seems interesting, and then you can ask specific questions. If you want to. Let me know what you'd like to know--others will probably chime in to the conversation, too. Bo PS - You are so lucky! I can't believe you've got these on public TV. Excellent!

Izzy, also check out koreanwiz.org, which has the full story on every K-drama that's aired in the US, as far as I know.

Good for you Izzy, I started seeing the dramas because I was interested in the culture too. And my friends and family also are annoyed and think I'm crazy too but I don't care I love the dramas and you will find yourself not being able to help but to see one and another you'll see. ;D
