I am enjoying every minute of Hee-joo's sassy talk. If I were Ki-joon I'd just put the two of them together and say, "You two broads wanted this marriage, you two deal with this situation. I'm going to go and dig holes in the grade school's sandbox."

Why doesn't she ever think she has done wrong? Right after Hee-joo's mother said she should lay off the pressure, she steals the pills. I don't think it's just ignorance, it's arrogance, too. HER WILL MUST PREVAIL! or off with their heads!

Hee-joo seems amazingly even-tempered through most of the discussions with MIL, altho she has to leave the room when MIL pays no attention to her views and just repeats her demands. A few times it was as tho HJ was explaining to a child, for the third or fourth time. HJ didn't get irritated, just said, pleasantly I thought, "I will have a child in 2 years", and didn't say, Will you lay off , I told you a thousand times, NOT NOW!! expletive.... I'M SO SICK OF YOU!!

SM really wants a grandson. But she needs to cool it. She already lost IY has her DIL. If she keeps getting HJ irritated, isn't she scared that HJ might just walk out for real, "I'm tired of you! I'm leaving!" Then SM will be DIL-less once again and who will want to marry her poor son KJ who has been divorced TWO times already?! So SM should just keep her mouth shut and be happy that HJ is planning to have a baby even if it's in 2 years.

you are SO right Jenny ~ "[glow=red,2,300]You two broads wanted this marriage, you two deal with this situation.[/glow] I'm going to go and dig holes in the grade school's sandbox."
HeeJoo is beyond stupid... she really believes she has a marriage... Kijoon, while annoying as ... hell, is living the lie he bought into. They're all nuts.
So.... what if Inyoung IS pregnant? And what if their divorce was never recorded? How are the writers going to ever bring this to an end?
I'm still in love with grandpa.

I never thought that woman would admit she was wrong, but she actually apologized to In-young and said she had been mean. Whew! But still she thinks she's correct in trying to force Hee-joo to have a baby. Even HJ's mother caved-that was a surprise. Anyway, it was good to see Screech Mom in a humble attitude.

I think old girl ought to go buy her a baby. I don't like the whole family, (specially Kijoon; I will say it again. His eyebrows are too damn thick) except for Bobae. She keeps it real. Her mouth is shut and her nose is clean. She knows the heffas in her family are cukoo for cocoa puffs. Specially old girl.

LOL! There were so many times that Ok-jin went all crazy in front of her family talking about how stressed out she was about her son's situation or about Hee-joo being a bad daughter-in-law. And cute little Bo-bae just sits there quietly. I wonder what could be going thru her mind, "My evil aunt is insane"? Hehe.

I'm American & I'm just curious to know if mother in laws are really like that it Asian Cultures. Are they that persistent to have grandchildren?? Also, are they that involved in their children's marriages??

Izzy, most of us here are American. But from our watching of the k-dramas, we think SM is an extreme example of the idea that as soon as you get married, you must have children. This seems to be such a recurring theme in the daily dramas--the family is not complete until a child is on the way--that on one of the other forums, we made a joke-thread about "when the soap opera can [safely] end." If they talk about it that much, it must be something that happens a lot, and not just from grandparents, but from everyone who knows you are married.
Is this your first k-drama? Or are you asking for an opinion from someone who has real experience with marriage in Korea? Maybe xelaevoli will drop by, she married a Korean man and lived there for awhile.

Yes, it's my first K drama. I don't know much about the Asian culture, & that is why I asked. I love learning about other cultures, & this is why I watch this particular drama. I don't think the acting is the best, but I do love watching the interactions of a family, other than an american one.
