I really, really like her. I think She's hilarious. Especially in the scene where She took In-young "furniture shopping" and then canceled the engagement party, loudly, in the middle of a public restaurant, when the girl had the temerity to suggest engagement presents don't have much meaning if some third party purchases them. She's perfect, completely amoral where money and status are concerned. I loved her in the store, running roughshod over the engaged couple, who were getting no help from the salesman (natch). "Poo, don't be silly, the bigger the rock, the better..." ;D ;D
And, what about when Grandpa called her and had his little chat, asking about the canceled engagement party? How afraid She was to take the phone from Ok-ja. How She tried to sound reasonable for him. Because She respects him in spite of herself.
I was really po'd when In-kyung came to her house, because my tape cut out right when She asked her, "why are you here?" What did She tell her? Did In-kyung find out who her birthmother is?
That day, I had started the tape again and it came in when In-chul carried In-kyung home on his back, so sweet, after yelling uncontrollably at her when babygirl was crying in the park. I am hoping there is a story for In-kyung finding her birthmom, secretly from her family, and it won't just be another dropped thread like that Korean/Chinese boy in MPC.

Bo, you're just perverse. NO one likes Screechy Mama. Git with the program. About sweet In-kyung, she didn't find out who her birth mom was. She went to SM's to confirm it was true. SM was OK to her, no screaming but used her "gentle" voice. I can't remember just what she said, but I think it was along the lines of, "your mom did love you and was happy with you," combined with, "what are you complaining about?" Personally, I think she blamed In-kyung for overhearing it in the first place. Do you mean the Korean/Chinese boy from OMR? The one Hye-ran's estranged dad brought back with him? You could also be talking about those two orphan children on MPC whom Jae-min's mom (never did learn her name) was caring for, until she forgot about them.

Do you mean the Korean/Chinese boy from OMR? The one Hye-ran's estranged dad brought back with him?... Er, yes. Did I say MPC? SO sorry. MPC, MS, OMR, WML, STIL...aigu. Yes, Bae, I also like her because she causes conflict. But I think I like her for herself, too. She's just becoming more and more funny and -- dare I say it? -- kind of adorable to me. If she'd just cut the snobbiness, I could look on her with affection, yes, I think I could. Nyah, Lucy. Bo

In every episode, I shiver to think what Ki-joon's screechy Mom has up her sleeve. I mean, she's a great actress who really plays her role well. However, in the drama, she's a mean, controlling woman who will make her DIL's life miserable for marrying her son.
I feel sorry for In-young every time she has to enter that house. The only normal character is the Aunt.

See, now I can't exactly remember. I think Aunt asked him if he was really going to call She, and he said, "Why not?" in English, after saying something in Korean. Probably it seemed more funny to me because the translator dutifully wrote, "Why not?" as he said it.

I love it when Grandpa speaks English. He's so adorable.
I think that "Why not" line might have been last week?

Yeh, the "Why not?" line was a week or two ago, because I'm pretty far behind you folks. Also, did you catch the double-take when Grandpa said her name was "Oh Ok-jin" and Aunt stopped her train of thought to ask, "THAT's her name?" I laughed immoderately.
