why is her sister the maid for her. there has to be some story behind that. luckly she is easy going and always finds some way to make somthing funny happen. i think her sister is jealous of her and her husband.

She is. And maybe that's why she's so bitter. She's a sadist. Won't be happy until those who are happy are made unhappy because of her unhappiness.

I don't think she's really a maid. I think she's a younger sister who married and moved into her wealthy sister's home, and now is performing the duties of a daughter-in-law. It is not so different from the life of any DIL I've seen on other shows--just odd because she's NOT the DIL and also, because the situation is so extreme. But her housework duties seem normal.

When Aunt calls to Mother, she calls "Seong!" I looked this word up, and it has a few meanings, but none seem to be 'sister'. The closest seems to be 'Family Name', although it also means 'Anger', which is sure appropriate.
Is this a provincialism? They are from the country, after all. Can anyone shed any light on this term?
