"They'll never suspect we're moving at night. And, there won't be any ambush at the obvious moutain pass."
Hello??? Earth to Kyun!!!! Didn't you watch Emperor Wang Guhn? Didn't you watch The Dawn of the Empire? Everybody knows, troops always move at night, and, theres always an ambush at the obvious mountain pass!
What???!!! You didn't have TV back in 1174? Don't you know that those who ignore history are condemed to repeat it? Oh, George Santayana wasn't born then, either? Boy, you've got an excuse for everything, don't you???

Yes, that had me baffled, too. Even yours truly (an armchair general if there ever was one) could tell right away that Kyun’s strategy was really dreadful. It was so obviously such a dreadful idea that I immediately assumed that it had to be one of his father’s crazy schemes to discredit Yi Ui-Bang (who had boasted that he was sending all the troop strength he needed to achieve a victory). But – if that were true – he obviously didn’t bother to let his son in on the ruse, since he also nearly ended up among the dead.
I guess I can only chalk it all up to Kyun’s inexperience (no kidding) and overconfidence. Must have had pretty low standards for making general in Koryo!
