DuU, I read what was on that site before. I'm glad it didn't take 4 months to get my DVDs! :-/I really appreciate the concern. All of the DVDs I've watched so far have good quality pictures and sub titles. Of course there is still the occasional misspelled word. There isn't a menu to navigate through. You just put the disc in and it will start to play after the copyright warning is displayed. You can fast forward or rewind if you need to. Each DVD has the KBS logo, "the Immortal Yi Soon Shin" and which episodes are on it(all in English). My only disappointment is that the set didn't come in a box like Vol.1 & Vol.2 did.

Thankyou tinkerbell. The information about the Yi-Soon-Shin dvds set, is quite helpful to me. Did kbs america ever email you about the information leak? It was odd that their site went dead so suddenly before. Since the dvds do not have a menu,is there at least an index point? Meaning, if I click advance once,it should skip to the next scene. I wonder why the subtitles are in white? It is hard to read white letters some times. I think they should have used yellow. Also did the original tv series have spelling errors too? Yea. I could understand why you would be disapointed without a promotional box case. I have an idea to make one though. You can print out the art work on white paper. Go out and buy a roll/sheet of clear contact paper. Peel off the backing of the contact paper. stick the stick side on the graphic image side (ink side)of the white paper. Press firmly on the two pieces of stuck paper. It is better to place something heavy on top of it. Next cut out the image to the size of the box set. get a container and fill it with slightly warm water. Put the graphic paper in it. let it soak untill the white part of the paer falls off. You can also peel it gently. Flip the contact paper over,so that the stick side is facing up. put it on a towel and let it dry. Next place the art work carefully on the boxset. There you go, you have just made your own decorative label sticker.

I think the reason they didn't come in a nicely packaged box is because these are "Episodes by Request". They don't promote it as a boxed set.
I've purchased another set that is available on by disc (not a boxed set) and that's exactly what I was (am) expecting - individual discs. Personally, I don't care because it's the only way I can get it!
Just my two cents and opinion on the individual discs vs boxed set.

I'm not trying to pick sides here. But I do see on the site, that it does say whole set and not whole box set. So now i can expect not to see a pretty cardboard box with my order. What I am more concerned with,is if the DVDs will arrive safely or not. You see KBS America,is using UPS ground for its delivery service. They are known often to deliver broken goods. Just afew months ago,I bought a set of music cds wrapped in bubble wrap. IT came shipped broken... It seems UPS employees do not care about what they ship. In fact I have seen them step on and crumple boxes. So has any of you received any broken dvds or cases yet?

Yes, you can go to the next scene or the previous one. When the show was on TV, it had spelling errors too. Also, a lot of times the subtitles come up before the proper time and then come up again at the right time. It's something you just have to overlook. I will make my own "box". Thanks for the suggestion on how to make one DuU. I agree with our guest. I am just thrilled to be able to watch ALL the eposodes! You are right, it was EOR not a boxed set, so it would be loose DVDs. I wasn't thinking I guess. All of my discs are in tact, none broken. I also received a DVD titled"23 Battles 23 Victories" and "400 days of Passion" . KBS never e-mailed me about the information leak awhile back but I had read about it. The cases are a soft plastic, so they are more durable than the brittle ones. Overall, I am VERY happy with the DVDs. Still haven't seen all of them yet DuU but I'm working on it! Thanks for your input xelaevoli un.

Great now i will not have to hold the fast forward button to skip a scene. ;D It worries me that you say that the cases are a soft plastic though. I emailed KBS America about how it protects its goods through shipping. They said they use bubble wrap and loose styrofoam popcorn. I do not know if this will be enough to protect the destructive force of UPS. But I am glad that your discs are safe. So is "23 Battles 23 Victories" Yi Soon Shin related? Good luck on your effort to view all the episodes tinkerbell. ;D

I received my 2 VOL set of IYSS on 5/1. Alas, there is NOT a CD soundtrack . I just called KBSAmerica and spoke with the person who filled my order. I told him about our Chicago fan board and that a posting or two had included info about the CD being included. He said there was NOT such a CD. He's going to check to see if and how one can be purchased. The volumes are beautifully put together... but of course they are brutally cut. And ulike boxed sets from YesAsia, there is not one word of english anywhere.

The 2 extra DVDs are Yi Soon Shin related. They are very interesting. They show a lot about the making of the series, interviews with some of the cast, comparisons of Chosun and Japanese weapons and ships, bloopers and other things. I'm glad I didn't get the 2 VOL set. They should have at least given you the option of the box being in English or Korean. I had seen some of the bloopers on youtube, but there weren't any subtitles. There is on the ones I got with the whole set. I hope you get your CD since others have posted that they got one.

isn't the CD Soundtrack supposed to be included in the 2nd Volume of the box set for IYSS? From what I've seen on sites as yesasia, dvdfromkorea, dvdheaven, the CD OST is on the 2nd volume boxset And the boxset is supposed to be severely cut...that was made very clear when the DVD set was released. That was the one thing that prevented me from buying the official release in the first place, no matter how much I also wanted the OST, but I wasn't going to just buy the 2nd volume for that.

On yesasia's website the soundtrack is included (disc 7) I believe. What I don't understand is why kbs-america is not including it. According to kbs, they give yesasia, amazon etc. the right to sell the products on their sites. So why wouldn't kbs if the products are coming from kbs?
