Actually I ordered them six days ago. I liked the series when I first saw it. I'm sure I will like it again. I just hope it arrives safe and sound. If it doesn't I will hold UPS responsible.

I hope you get your DVDs in perfect condition. I read what you wrote about UPS. Actually, the post office can be just as brutal sometimes. I have gotten mail with somebody's dirty boot print on it. Do you know exactly what day they are coming? Mine took exactly 10 days. You can go to the UPS site and put in your tracking number. It will tell you if your shipment is on time and the expected day of arrival. Good luck.

Mail with foot print sounds bad. But mail is different from shipping goods. Which I have also seen UPS employees stomp on. But My dvds did arrive today. I think it was exactly ten days as yours were tinkerbell. I had examined them all by hand. Only one (episode15-16)had a minor scratch near the end/edge of the disc. But it played flawlessly. I thought the 23 battles and 23 victories bonus disc was done very well. 100 passions is another show all by itself. I am loving it.

YEEE HAAA! I'm glad you got them and they are OK.Yeah, the 23 battles and 23 victories was very interesting. Can you believe they spent 35 million to make the show? It does show though. How did you like the weapons part? Did you see the size of the holes the Japanese muskets made? They looked bigger than a 50 caliber! Wouldn't have wanted to get shot with one of those. With the other DVD, 400 days of passion, I had to pause it for just about every sentence, since I'm not Korean or speak the language. I wanted to read what they were talking about plus see the pictures. They sure went through a lot of laundry detergent! By the way, the mail I was talking about was a padded envelope with a CD inside. I can't believe it wasn't broken! This drama is definitely worth the money. I never blow money thoughtlessly, but this is a must have. ;D

tinkerbell, thanks for being the guinea pig on this and letting us know what you received and what your experience was. I'm glad you were able to order them right away and share the info with the rest of us. I'm still a month or two away from ordering mine and I appreciate your posts here.
Kathleen, was there even a slot for the soundtrack CD in the edited set you received? The second box of volume 2 is supposed to have four flaps instead of three, and the CD is tucked into a slot in the middle of that fourth flap. Is there not even an extra flap in your set? If there isn't, you may have gotten a misprinted one and that may be why the CD is missing. Very strange.

Your welcome ajk. Thanks for your response. I'm glad to know I'm helping people who might be sitting on the fence trying to decide whether to buy or not. It really is worth the money. When you watch the one DVD and see all the hard work that was put into making this drama, it's incredible. Also the actors and actresses have a good sense of humor(as seen in the bloopers). If you go on youtube and read Kim Myung Min's acceptance speech, he is so much like Yi Soon Shin (very humble). The video clip shows him overcome with emotion after they announce his name. He had tears in his eyes and was so gracious and thankful. He really is a cool guy.

The weapons display was interesting. I was definately shocked at the holes found in the iron armor. But the muscats used big caliber balls. 400 days of passion was definately great to watch. I always wanted to know how to make fake blood. ;D I agree that this drama was worth buying. But I do find some odd things. The subtitles are slightly different from the original tv versions. Some times there is a loud pop in transition scenes. The transition scenes sometimes do not make sense. Some scenes were cut out,to make room on the disc. But many more scenes are included, that were not shown on tv version.

Oh, I'm not on the fence about it at all, tinkerbell; it's just a matter of having some time to scrape up the $400. This was announced so suddenly that it caught me off guard.
Actually I was writing letters to KBS America execs last year begging them to release the whole unedited series. I don't know if that had any impact, but after asking for it I certainly have to buy it now, right? I'm certainly looking forward to it, to put it mildly.

Well I certainly thank you ajk,I'm sure your begging helped. Some people I'm sure are satisfied with the edited version, but many of us wanted it all.If you never watched the whole drama, seeing the cut version would still be exciting, after all the battles are awesome. Personally, watching it from the beginning made you see all Yi went through and made you love, respect, and appreciate him all the more. Also, you became attached to the characters and really felt contempt for certain others. Hope you can get your's soon. I thought it was just me not remembering DuU. Did you think there were extra scenes in the beginning? I didn't remember there being so many scenes of the king in the first couple of episodes. What did you think was deleted? I thought there was a little more of his childhood and didn't they show his brother getting killed or is it my faulty memory? I can compare my video tapes against the DVDs, but only starting with the middle of the series. I used to record it so I could pause to read dialog that went too quickly. After that I stopped recording over them and felt like kicking myself for doing that. I guess we will both be making a DVD "box" after watching them of course.

Yes there seems to be some extra scenes in the dvd not shown on tv. I saw the deleted scene that involved the Korean messenger. I think his name was Yohei. It is the man that lost his son and wife. They chopped off the bit that showed him volunteering to be a messenger. I do not know if they will show it again in episode102-104? But yes I plan to make a professional box set out of plastic. I will probably go to a custom plastics company.

Is the OST available for purchase anywhere? I would love to buy the OST, since I don't want to spend so much money on the dvd's.

I do not think the OST is sold alone. You may have to buy the secondary mini boxset to get it.
