You gals are just as bitter as the Director from WML.* (LOL! I'm just kidding, nobody is bitter except maybe Jenny's little Lemon Boya icon. I must like sappy music because I like it. That it helps me conjure up images of Yonsama is a hands down plus.
*remember when he was telling Young Aunt that the CD she always played was sappy?

You gals are just as bitter as the Director from WML.* *remember when he was telling Young Aunt that the CD she always played was sappy? Oh, yes. I noticed that. Poor Quiltie; she's trying to maintain a romantic vision of him, and he keeps dashing it with his accesses of rage and offputting comments. But, Galchick, I think what Bo and I are saying is that we're enjoying enjoying the sappy music (repeated word intended). Hey, I'm over 40, so it's about time I started broadening my tastes with the easy listening. The last 2 CDs I've bought have been the White Stripes and the Winter Sonata OST--what the H does that say about me??

I must like sappy music because I like it. As hachiue would say: WTF? When I read my own post I was thinking, gotta lay off those Sharpie Markers. I meant to say: I must like sappy music because I like the OST. LOL! w/re: to easy listening. My brothers say I'm an old woman trapped in a young woman's body because of my taste in music. White Stripes and Winter Sonata? that's like me then. One CD will be The Beatles, the next one will be Erasure, then I'll listen to System of a Down, then some good ol' TimeLife compilation. How boring would it be if you limit yourself to one type of genre? p.s. I hearby declare young Aunt's nickname to be Quiltie.

Yay! Isn't that White Stripes album great? I love "Denial Twist." That's the song that made me buy it. I also love the Beatles 4-ever and, oh, just oodles of things. Jacques Brel, the Smiths, Dionne Warwick singing Bacharach and David--and, of course, the fabulous works of Lee Ho (composer of "Winter Sonata" OST).

I'm not sure I know what "Denial Twist" sounds like. I'm sure I must've heard it but I just can't think of the tune right now.
Dionne Warwick has a wonderful voice, but if I had to choose between the divas, I choose Gladys Knight. Gladys has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. I bought her best of collection recently. I don't know how many times I've heard it.

I'm not sure I know what "Denial Twist" sounds like. I'm sure I must've heard it but I just can't think of the tune right now. It's the one that's similar to "My Doorbell" because of the intermittent banging on the drums and some yowly singing from Jack. Lyrics something like, "If you think that a kiss is on the lips, come on, you got it all wrong, man. If you think that our dance was all in the hips, oh well, then do the twist." It make me dance. Gladys Knight does have a beautiful voice. I forgot about her. But Dionne was kooool. Maybe it was that face that looked like, "Don't try to push me around." and the Bacharach/David material helped a lot, too.

Ummm...White Stripes? Evolving into a discussion of the relative merits of Gladys Knight and Dionne Warwick? Gotta keep an eye on you guys ALL THE TIME! Bitter Bo Relative merits? I think Gladys Knight is the best black singer alive. Good sense of style too. I was going to go see her when she came in concert a month or two ago, but the tickets were $90 (ouch!). Bitter Bo? Of course you know it just had to remind me of some Simpson's Quote. Remember when Homer is the manager for the country singer named Lurlene and she comes out on Yeeeee hawwwww! They do a squit where one guy tells the other "I found my wife in bed with my brother" the other guy replies "You bitter'?" first guy says "Yep...bit him too" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

HAHA. Oh, man, we 'uns shore is punchy, as Cletus might say. Right, Brandine? Actually, I remember that episode but not the segment on "Yeee Haww!" That title is genius.
Don't get me started on Dionne vs Gladys. I admitted Gladys was good, but Dionne is an icon. MY icon. I have to stand up for her.

The White Stripes are a group--actually a duo. Unfortunately, they have nothing to do with Korean drama! We got off the topic. It's probably in the top 20 or so and should be available everywhere. The name of the album we're talking about is Get Behind Me Satan. hth.

Oops! I wasn't dissing the divas, for god's sake. I was laughing about White Stripes being in the same conversation with them--that's why I said "evolving" instead of "devolving" because GK & DW are higher on the evolutionary ladder...err...something like that...LOL. (Except I can't remember why I was "bitter"--but I get that way sometimes.) BD, I'm with you. I have NO I-DEA who is White Stripes, LOL. Except, I think I saw a mention of them on TV and Bob made fun of me for calling them "the White Stripe" (no "s"). Do I deserve this from a man who thinks it's funny to smack my leg every time we see a sign for Wacker Drive ("whack her")?
