Don't know if anyone is still reading this board, but I just went into a little sushi store downtown, and one of the songs from WLS was playing on the CD! It was a track from the piano version of the soundtrack. They didn't know what it was until I told them; they had made the CD by downloading love songs from a Chinese site. (OK, so we've got a Korean song playing in a Japanese restaurant that is possibly run by Chinese people. It gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling to hear that music out in public.

LOL Lucy... Koreans/Chinese/Japanese ... jusic as a peacekeeper
I really love that piano version... it's a video too so I had a friend make me a CD of the music only so I could play it at work.
So much of the Korean Drama music is beautiful.

Oh how nice it must be to listen to it somewhere other than your boombox.
When you heard the music did you feel like Jiyeun and start looking for your long lost love? I would have died if they had put it on because Yonsama was quietly drinking coffee/tea in a corner of the restaurant.

I've been meaning to ask you, Lucy, what kind of sushi do you eat? So much of it seems to involve meat...

Hi, Bo. I eat the veggie sushi. Usually it's some combination of avocado, carrots, and cucumbers, or those ingredients individually. The place I go to near work makes a big roll with tomato (which I pick out because the tomatoes are almost white), carrot, avocado, and lettuce. You can also get other kinds of vegetarian sushi at many restaurants, but I'm picky and don't like a lot of things. I've tried a daikon roll, and at Whole Foods they have some sort of mushroom/tofu roll, too. Bleh. GC, I didn't feel so much like Yujin, but I did get that dreamy feeling that overtook me during the series whenever I heard the theme music. If only Yon-sama had been there. *sigh* When I made my big trip out to Mitsuwa, I had the OST playing in the car, and it's a long ride so I heard it several times. Now I think of that day when I hear the music, too.

Oh, there is also inari, which is a soybean-sheet skin filled with sushi rice. It looks like a little stuffed football. That's good, too.

I found an interesting website. It's a fan website from when WLS aired in the Philippines. The weird thing is that Yujin and Minhyung are called Janice and Joseph. www.ladylaila.net/winter_sonata/

Isn't that odd? Those alternate names do seem to suit them, though. Why is it AKA "Endless Love II" in the Philippines? Was there another show called "Endless Love" that the people there think is very similar to "Winter Sonata"?
She's got lyrics to some of the songs on there, and I was excited because I thought they were transliterations of the Korean lyrics, which would be handy for singing along. I think they're Tagalog, though. Interestingly, those lyrics fit the meter of the songs very well. I wonder where she got them.

I think they are naming it after Autumn in My Heart which I believe was also known as Endless Love.
Aigu, don't you just miss seeing Bae Yong Joon?

Aigu, don't you just miss seeing Bae Yong Joon? Yes I do, but I bet not as much as you do The only place I hear the songs from this drama is here at work. I listen to the OST practically everyday. I love the song "Memories" I think it's time to buy a new Korean Drama OST.

Hey, I got the WLS OST ($3 with DJG #2), misplaced it before I could open it, and MyBob just found it in a stack of his CDs! I'm so excited.

Yes, it's good, but looking at it dispassionately, I don't think I'd like it if I didn't have "memories" in my mind. It is a leetle beet sappy, non? Poor Bob; I'm always crying when I listen to the Korean soap music.

I agree about the memories coloring the music. It's not my sort of thing either, but I like it now because of the associations. I was even thinking of getting the extra-sappy "Love Letter" soundtrack. Before watching Korean dramas, I'd never bought a soundtrack in my life, but having a souvenir of these long-term experiences is getting to be a habit.
