I'm really glad to see that there's more and more subtitled show on KBC, I'm not just talking about dramas, but also the news and documenatries. I caught an episode of the show where celebrities do low paying jobs for charity just yesterday and it was subtitled, hopefully they'll all be subtitled from now on. Now all KBC has to work on are their timings.

Oh, goodie! I love that celebrity show. Also, I noticed yesterday at about 3:00 (after YSS) there was some show that started with a subtitled music video about beneficial insects (of all things!)--perhaps it was a science show.

We've been watching the celebrity show and trying to guess what it had been about. The work that the contestants do is always so interesting. When the sub-titles came on this week I was thrilled. How humble and down-to-earth the celebs seem to be! Our crowd in Hollywood could take a few lessons from these folks.

Oh, yeah! I forgot--there was a great documentary about the student uprisings in the 70s. Being a university student myself at the time I remember reading about the riots in the paper, but I had no idea the high price the student demonstrators paid just to print leaflets, distribute them or simply to march. MDH watched with me and said that the actions of the police were just like the Communist police behind the Iron Curtain.

I am so glad that they are adding more subtitled shows to KBC. Saturday morning I watched a show where they show an elderly person in Korea and they give them a puppy so they won't be lonely. It was cute and sad at the same time. The person they chose was an elderly woman who didn't have any family but a son whom she didn't have any contact with and had not seen in years. It was very sad to see her working and trying to make a living at her older age, with nobody that cared for her. So she was very excited to get that cute puppy because now she had someone to care for.
Then yesterday evening I saw a movie of this little boy named Gabi (8-9 years old) and how he tried to help out his classmates in different areas. There was a funny scene where he tells one of his classmates (who is an only child) that he will help him get a little brother. So then we see the classmate going to his house, his mother and father are watching tv, so he goes outside and cuts the cord so that the tv goes out. That was hilarious, cause then the father starts giving the mom this look and they send their son to bed early. Anyways Gabi was really really smart for his age. So the teacher tries to contact his parents with no luck. Finally she follows him home one day and when he walks out, she walks in. She finds his bedroom and sees that he has newspapers taped to the ceiling and in most of those newspapers is a picture of Gabi. The crazy thing is that those newspapers clippings are from a while back. The little boy Gabi comes in and confesses that he has a disease that does not allow him to grow, and he tells the teacher "if I had grown like the others I'd probably have a daughter your age by now." It was crazy! Good thing it was subtitled cause I would've never guessed that little boy was actually really really old.

Yeah, I caught the last 20 mins of the show, I was wondering, what happened to the one kid's father where he thought he was still in military training, how'd he come to be like that? And what happened to Gabi, he seemed to have grown up himself.

And what happened to Gabi, he seemed to have grown up himself. The boy's father had been in a war and I guess became crazy. Gabi did in fact grow. I know at the end of the episode it said that he was slowly growing. So that the teacher that called his name was actually the little boy who was his friend and who's father was crazy.

Gabi is that teenaged boy that you see at the end, walking in the hall and the teacher who recognizes him was the little boy who sat next to him whose father had lost his mind in the war! This was the second time this had aired. I caught part of it at midnight on Friday! Remember how the kids refered to Gabi as a Goblin? The Irish would call him a fairie--NO sexual connotation inplied! ;D

Ah, the CelebrityShow... I was so pleased to see it subtitled. I would often catch parts of it and just could not figure out what the point was... getting on the white unicorn and putting that little envelope in a heart... then a dollor amount flashing...
you're right Bungalowdweller... our esteemed Hollywood types would do well to get involved in such a worthwhile endeaavor.
Alexa ... anyone... do you know what the title of the Gabi Movie ... or the Puppy movie was? I can well understand that getting a title was probably difficult... but if would be nice to know.
thanks
