I agree, skinz, but I heard Entertainment Weekly give it a poor review, saying that when it's all over, we'll feel like chumps for having watched 6 hours of it. But we may like it; it may have some good acting in it, and it was filmed in Rome, so I'm set to watch; I love any kind of historical drama.
Incidentally, while Empire was being filmed, HBO's upcoming Roman series was being filmed at the same time (and around the same place) Featuring some great actors (Cirian Hinds and James Purfoy) it looks to be excellent. HBO seems to always do well with their programming. The series won't be out until the fall.
I read a newspaper article on Empire calling it a "limited" series (as opposed to a "mini-series" which is usually shown in blocks on succeeding nights). Empire will be shown tonight for two hours (9-11) and then for one hour each week (over the course of four more weeks). Hmm. Limited series. Does this mean we'll soon be having series here similar to fine Korean programming?
lol, I'll be waiting for the 158 episode Age of Rebellion about the American Revolution. Can you picture George Washington cursing out Benedict Arnold? "neh e nome Arnold!"

Hi Betz, I sent you a e-mail a minute ago.
Anyway, I read a review that Empire wasn't accurate with its story and that it becomes too cliche. But I also read a comparison with the other two miniseries (Into the West and Empire Falls) out now and they said its the most "tolerable" of the three.

I saw a little of "Empire". I didn't get to watch more of it because I was mostly watching "I Want To Be A Hilton" on NBC. I'll try watching "Empire" next week.

I can't believe that the guy who plays octavius, santiago cabrera, in the series is actually of pure south american decent. he passes off a good english accent...
