PS - Bo, they're not "blood" siblings. It's still icky, if they grew up as siblings, thinking they were blood siblings. It's not like she grew up as a ward in his parent's house (my references are positively medieval!) and always loved her. He apparently thought she was his sister. And I repeat, Gack. Bo

I know what you mean Bo. I think the only reason I wasn't terribly disturbed by it was because they found out the truth while they were relatively young (6 or so?). I think since her life changed so much after that, she felt she could develop her feelings, so to speak, toward him. Maybe they allowed themselves the freedom to indulge their love because they knew they weren't related - in spite of everyone's feelings about it. But, on the other hand, isn't that the exact reason everyone had a problem with their "love?" Wasn't it because they were "siblings?" (I can't believe I'm defending this drama . It's not even one I really liked.) Melissa

Yep...so it's good that I decided not to watch Autumn In My Heart then! YH was about 169 episodes, I believe. It's very good. It's the 2nd Korean drama I watched, the first being To Be With You. YH is definitely a must-see! It's terrific in every way. But I must say that I think the ending should have been different. I won't speculate on this b/c you haven't seen it yet, right Hannah? So we'll talk about it after you see it.

But, on the other hand, isn't that the exact reason everyone had a problem with their "love?" Wasn't it because they were "siblings?" Really? I thought in the first post to this thread, the person said it was when they were 14. I guess if they learned when they were 6, it would not be so icky. Then it really would be like they just happened to grow up in the same house. But to other people, it would still be gross. In many countries, you cannot marry a step brother or sister, even if your parents married when you were adults and even if you never knew each other, because it's so taboo. LOL, Melissa--in the second part of your quote, I thought you were saying everyone is dating their siblings these days, but I think you're still talking about the show. I had a good laugh about that. no i have not seen yh yet ,lovely...... maybe i'll buy it, i'm really poor right now after buying the piano, which i don't understand beause it has no subtitels.
as for autumn in my heart, I just think it's gross how the two characters fell in love with each other. even when the two were siblings when they were young, you could tell they had some type of connection, that is not normal in every day life. he cared a little too much for her, and the way they looked at each other is not normal, as I recall, it's been a while since i seen this movie. / even though it's romantic in a sense, that the guy wanted to protect her since he knew who she was, an empty place in his heart, after being torn away, you have to admit, something is wrong with that guy mentally. LOL
I mean for crying out loud, the parents considered the girl to be there daughter even though she really wasen't, because they took care of her for so long, they nursed her!!!!

It does sound weird! I mean for Winter Love Song, the affection between Joon-sang and Yu-jin was beautiful and heartwrenching when they thought they might be half-sibs. But for Autumn in my Heart, Eun-suh and Joon-suh were brought up together for like 12 years thinking they were blood bro and sis. And even then, they were having a more than blood bro and sis connection . Thank goodness they turned out to NOT be blood bro and sis. But I think the reason the director made the two superclose (even when they thought they were sibs) was to show the audience maybe like a clue that those two were not related and that they were infact, true loves to one another? I can always tell you what YH was about just in case you end up not buying it.
