NK Prepares TV Drama About Choson Kingdom
North Korea is working on an epic television drama about the Choson Kingdom (1392-1910).
Choson Sinbo, a Korean-language news Web site based in Japan, reported on Feb. 8 that North Korea’s Korean Central Broadcasting Association is in the process of producing the drama.
North Korea has produced 10- to 20-episode television dramas created from works of fiction based in Korea’s past, but this will be the first time it has created a historical drama about the early Choson Kingdom period, according to Choson Sinbo.
The drama will focus on the political conflicts that took place between subjects who were loyal and honest to the king and those who were self-serving during the early years of the Choson period, the Web site reported.
