My theory for the whole sickness case is this: Since they said that Jinsoo is showing the same symptoms as when he first got sick, wouldn’t it be cool that all of a sudden he’s slowly recuperating and knows all about his mom’s evil doings since she made most of her phone calls while she was in his room?

Yes, I thought about that, too! I can't imagine what illness causes reversible brain damage, lol, but hey, this is a soap opera. Maybe they're going to try and pull it off. That would be fun.

I'd love for that to happen! Now Jin-soo's dad can see that Jin-soo really meant it when he said, "Mommy is bad" all those times ;D

That would be too perfect! Here's hoping that his father actually believes him instead of saying "your brother Jin-kook must've told his lies to you" or "you were retarded, how would you know what was going on?"

Wow, I never even considered that Jin-soo would recover after this "fever" and spill Mom's secrets! That's why I need this board! I just thought that Bad Mommy did something to her son. One minute he's sleeping after dinner, then after some alone time with mommy and that fan he's in a coma. She does seem to love him, the way she looks at him while she fans him off, and he is her son, but we just don't know what she's capable of. Hmm, this is so interesting, I love this drama.

I was thinking the same thing. Her son and her mysterious brother are all the blood family she has left in this world. She did seem genuinely upset when he wouldn't wake up and she said somethig like "He's all I live for in this world." But how will she react if my theory is correct? Would she be so evil that she would do something to him? Or maybe this will be one of those subplots that goes nowhere. I love this show too! Absolutely enjoy it more than OMR.

Evil stepmom was just pissy because she though Jin-kook dumped crap in Jin-soo's room on purpose, using it as a dump because she is [glow=red,2,300]TOO STUPID[/glow] to realize that Jin-kook, unlike her, can actually love members of his family. And she was saying how Jin-kook wanted his brother gone because he was "smarter" than Jin-kook. Jin-kook was protesting that it was an accident and evil stepmom stormed out after letting out the doozy that her life has been ruined by "generations" of that family. I probably left some points out, feel free to add. Of course because of what's been going on at this board, when Jin-soo opened his eyes at the end of the episode yesterday, I thought he looked smarter. I hope he wakes up, because I want the evil mistress to get her comeuppance for being cruel and arrogant. What, she doesn't think other people love her families as much as she loves hers so it's okay to get revenge while thinking that she's a good and loving person? Sheesh!

Jin-soo opened his eyes? Because of the wandering airtime, I missed taping the last few minutes. Last thing I remember seeing was Evil Step calling the ajuma to tell her to put the books back in Jin-soo's room. Looks like she feels bad about what she said to Jin-kook; maybe she realizes that JK isn't totally evil and against JS after all.
Did I miss anything else?
Thanks! Lucy

I can't remember how far this scene was, but: did you see the part where JK is visiting his mom's tomb? That was a touching scene.
Other than that I can't seem to recall anything else.
P.S. the dad and mom were asleep when JS opened his eyes.

Thanks, galacticchick. Yes, I did. Poor little JK, please let me comfort you! I felt sad for him. Now that he's opening up his heart a little to Hee-soo, all sorts of things that he buried are coming out, like how much he loved and misses his mom. *snif!* Did you notice that he's speaking civilly to his father these days? I love how he's softening up and realizing how good a normal, caring family (Hee-soo's) is starting to look to him. Those scenes with HS's father were so great, and I loved how he asked if he could see HS before he went home. Sweet!

lol i totally loved the scene btwn JK n HS's father.. thanks for letting me know what happened at the beginning of the episode when JK n stepmom were arguing.. actually i was wondering if they actually said what happened 'last time', did they ever mention it before?? i just remember that during that scene stepmom says something about oxygen not reaching jin-soo's brain.. or was that just my imagination/.? ican't remember.. if anybody else knows, can u please let me know?
after thought - actually, it seems that JK is more intersted than stepmom and golfing guy in what actually is wrong with him, like what's causing it and such.. while stepmom n golfing guy seems to be just like 'let it be. it's fate.. blahblahblah'

I will answer again! I was rambling a bit last time - sorry! They didn't specifically say what happened last time. She said that it was JK's fault because he took JS down to the river even though he knew JS couldn't swim. She also said that the doctor said that the illness was caused by lack of oxygen to the brain (hence the brain damage). JK said that JS wanted to go down to the river and he said that the lack of oxygen/illness wasn't caused by him almost drowning; I guess implying that something else had been done to JS to make that happen. Anyway, I kept hoping that JS would look more alert today; but he would obviously hide it if he were (because, if he was smarter than JK he would know to, eh?). It would be lovely if the son that evil stepmom loved so much hated her because of her cold black heart.

However he is now that he seems to have recovered, what is going to happen when he finds that file ESM (actually, for him it would be just EM) hid in the drawer? I can picture him folding it into origami, when his brother walks in and notices it. But since it's hidden, this could happen tomorrow, six weeks from now, or even not at all . . . but she wouldn't have hidden it there if it weren't going to be found. But, maybe it's a plant, and JK is MEANT to find it? Considering my lack of succes with predicting plot twists, I think I''l just watch and see what happens

When Jin-soo gave that look to ESM/EM (Soju, you are a stitch) last night (Thursday 9/2), it started me thinking that maybe we are not giving him enough credit. People who are brain damaged are sometimes more observant of certain things than other people, and sometimes put things together in their minds differently than "normal" people and come up with surprisingly pointed observations.
I think he's figuring her out, I think he's going to say something to his dad to set him on his ear and that he might end up being the key to untangling the whole situation. "Mom's bad," is just his opening salvo.
