Well yesterday we saw that the dad's were competing to see who had the prettier daughter and I just wanted to find out who guy all think is the prettier girl.
I personally think it's a pretty close call. I think Ji-hae is very pretty and a great dresser, but He-soo is also both of these and she doesn't seem to need as much make up as her cousin. Any other opinions?
This may not work since I think most viewers who have posted are female, but still we can give our opinion--can't we?

Well, okay: here’s an opinion from one of us guys on this board! Once I got past the first half-dozen or so introductory episodes (here in L.A.) I found that I was really starting to enjoy MPC. It hasn’t grabbed me, perhaps, the way “Yellow Handkerchief” did last year, but I’m finding that I’m liking it a whole lot better than I did OMR during the first few weeks. So, I have some pretty high hopes for this new drama! Although none of the women in MPC really knock me out (as did, say, Ja-young in “Yellow Handkerchief) I still have to say that we’ve got a couple of real nice lookers on this new show. I’d definitely give a thumbs-up to Hee-soo, a natural beauty who does indeed look way-cute, even without makeup. She a solid grade of “B” in by book. Ji-hae’s not bad, either, but she always seems to have this goofy look about her that weirds me out a little. So she gets a grade of “B-”. For a so-called “middle aged” woman, I have to say that Evil Stepmother Young-shil is also pretty striking. She’s got great looks and she definitely knows how to dress for success, but of course she’s also a little scary. Grade of “B” for her anyway. Ji-hae’s and Jae-lin’s moms aren’t at all bad looking for middle-aged moms, but they don’t quite match up to the above three. Just my two cents worth!

I vote for Hee-Soo as the more natural and likeable beauty. She does so much more with fewer props, simpler clothing, etc.
Ji-hae, although not unattractive, drives me nuts with the facial contortions. She reminds me of Joan Cusack when she does that. And when she is photographed in profile (as she often is when she is cozying up to Dad) it is not the most flattering.

Speaking of snappy dressers, why would He-soo wear jeans to her cousin's wedding. They were nasty, with that boring little jacket. I was disappointed. She should have been wearing something a little more funky.

Yes Bo, I thought that her attire for the wedding was a little strange too, especially after her mom had made such a fuss about dad looking "shabby." In that scene I thought that He-soo hadn't gotten ready yet. Boy was I wrong.

HEY HEY HEY SORRY I WAS AWAY FOR A WHILE...well....looks like ill be leaving the AGE OF WARRIORS section and this section will become my main section BUT BETWEEN JI HAE AND HEE SOO...well for me its also a close call..but i like hee soo's natural beauty...shes has a very beautiful smile that makes me want to kick jin kooks butt and take his place in the show.....but ji hae is also remarkably pretty....which makes me want to kick jae mins mommas boy butt and take his place in the show as well hahhaha..well....i would give them both A's and leave it as a tie since i would seriously feel guilty if i favor one girl than the other. -koji

I think that He-soo is the more natural beauty, and I definitely agree that Ji-hae's facial contortions (and the profile photography) tend to make her look less pretty.
He-soo's hair, though, could be a little smoother. I think that's the one area where Ji-hae beats her.
I'm just going on aesthetics, though, since I'm a girl, so I'm not sure which one would be considered more attractive to guys.

From another male perspective, Hee-Soo is the prettiest of the two. She certainly seems to be the better actor as well - buddhacat's comparison of Ji-hae's facial contortions to Joan Cusack was right on target.
Mikey, thanks for that chart you made - you saved us from a lot of confusion!

Well, their weddings (as I think we've all seen) aren't the same affairs as over here. Those not directly involved in the wedding can wear casual attire. The daughter probably wasn't scolded because she wasn't going to be bowed to at the traditional ceremony (which usually isn't shown on these dramas). Whereas the parents were going to be part of it - hence, if I'm not mistaken, the mother's hanbok.
Forgive me if you don't care, but when I was married. We had the regular wedding ceremony (where attire ranged from very nice to super casual - some were wearing shorts!) and then immediately following it I had to change into my traditional clothes for the traditional ceremony. (The bowing, drinking, and throwing of the dates/chestnuts etc.) No one was involved in that ceremony except for those we had to bow down to (and the women were all wearing hanboks). Everyone else was drinking and eating at the reception.
Anyway, probably more info than you wanted, but that's my understanding. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong or if you have more details! I'd love to know more of why weddings are this way. :-)

Oh...the point of this entire thread.... My opinion is that ~~~ Hee Soo is the prettier of the two - with or without makeup! Melissa

Xelaevoli, did you get married here or in S. Korea? I think you're right about it being a sort of "casual" affair. Of other dramas I've seen some people just go a little bit more dressed up to work, attend the ceremony, then go back to work.
It isn't all that much different here, once I went to a wedding were people were wearing those jeans, and I was the one feeling out of place because of my formal attire. I guess it just depends whose throwing it and where.

S. Korea - at the Seoul Olympic Hotel. Those big gates you see (in some dramas) I had some wedding pictures taken next to them. We traipsed all over that *&^@ place on (it seemed) the hottest day in August! LOL
Wow! I had no idea. All the weddings I've gone to in the States have been big church affairs where you dress up (well, churchy clothes) and jeans would have been out of place.

Melissa Cool, cool, cool (well hot) Talk about destination wedding! Still what an experience. Well these weddings that I tell you about are really from the relatives who I try to avoid--kidding. But yeah I mean it seems that even though they've rented out a fancy banquet hall somebody always ends up wearing jeans to these things.
