Wow, am I a rock star or what? But, folks, this thread is not about me but about Kim Hyun-joo (and LYA). I will try to answer your questions, and then move on to our topic. First: Thank you, Christine, for your praise. You are just too kind. Lifan, yes, I have some knowledge of Classical Chinese. In fact, during my 'genius' days I read "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" twice in Classical Chinese. Seoulsearcher, you asked whether I still speak those five languages. Well, I have forgotten quite a lot through non-use. Beside English, my best bet be would be French, knowledge of which was quite convenient during my frequent trips to Paris and also during my trips to West and North Africa (years ago). I have forgotten quite a lot of German through non-use. But later in my life, I am planning to spend at least a year in Berlin, Munich and Vienna. (I adore German writers, especially Hermann Hesse.) As for Latin and Greek, I think they greatly contributed to my considerable English vocabulary. Eun, thanks so much for your praise. But don't fall in love with me, for (I think) you are quite young and I am at least a generation older than you. I am kidding, of course. ;D As for Ko Soo, he is (at least in "Green Rose") too uncouth and country bumpkin-ish to be the male lead in a K-drama. But each to his own and you may like him. However, I loved Lee Da-hye in both GR and "My Girl." Jenny, I will answer your question right away in my next post.

Jenny, I am really sorry I forgot about your question. Please forgive me. You asked how I could love two female stars equally at the same time. Well, I think it is quite possible to love two persons, even in real life. Earlier in this thread, I said how I was absolutely enchanted with Kim Hyun-joo when I saw her for the first time in the great historical drama "Sangdo(The Merchant Prince)," in which she played the role of a beautiful, enigmatic young woman who may or may not be the daughter of a ruthless tycoon, the male lead's archenemy. The two leading characters fall in love in secret under impossible conditions, and their tragic romance tortured my soul (even though it is only a drama) while I watched this mesmerizing 50-episode drama unfold. After that I avidly searched for her dramas and watched "Glass Slippers" and "Miss Kim's Adventure." KHJ effectively plays quite different roles in these three dramas, testifying to her versatile acting ability. She is really unique: unique beauty and unique acting ability. As for Son Ye-jin, I was not deeply impressed with her at first: she grew on me rather slowly. You enjoy movies like "The Classic," "A Moment to Remember," " April Snow" and "Lover's Concerto" and dramas like "Summer Scent" and "Delicious Proposal." At first you think that is all. But later you want to see these movies and dramas again......and again. Because she left in you a thirst for her persona. For me, a sweet and chaste persona. I don't think I will tire of Son Ye-jin any time soon. Well, I don't think I explained my equal infatuation with these two ladies too well. Let's leave it at that for the moment. In my next post I will talk about the rest of the principal cast of the "Glass Slippers."

Thanks a lot, Kiparang. Though I am a female I got interested in Kim Hyun-joo and Son Ye-jin through you. I think I will watch first 'Glass Slippers' and SYJ's movies such as 'The Classic' or 'A Moment to Remember.' Thank you.

Hmm. Doesn't Son Ye-jin look like Kim Hyun-joo? I think there is a lot of similarity between the two.

This is a long thread without any pictures. Just in case someone wonders what KHJ looks like, here's a shot of KHJ and Ji Jin-Hee together off screen. The extras/bloopers showed them having a very good time together on and off screen.

hmm.. ive watched "ms kims million dollar quest" for a few times and i think the story was not that really interesting... here in the philippines, it was shown at daytime and it was not really a hot item here... i dont know what happened..
as for her acting, actually, her facial expressions remind me of the female lead in "Lovers in Paris".. (what was her name again? LPP got one of the highest ratings here in the Philippines when it was shown...)
as for the chemistry, JJH and KJH, maybe just a spark, not a blazing flame, if i would describe it.. hm... or were the filipinos just got tangled together with LYA-JJH team?? maybe... actually, before the MS Kim's soap was shown, the teasers were somewhat like "If u thirst for JJH (in Jewel) more, here is another enchanting drama--MS Kim's blah blah blah... so they really needed his name for the advertising of the new show... im not sure if it has ended as of now...

Jasmine, you sound like a cynical and insensitive person. Everyone(well, nearly everybody) loves "Miss Kim" and says how he/she is impressed with great chemistry between KHJ and JJH. And if you find it "not that interesting" why do you bother to see it "for a few times?" LOL. Christine

Hello, everybody
Christine, you are not the first person who noticed similarity between Kim Hyun-joo and Son Ye-jin. Others in Korean media mentioned it. But I totally disagree. To me they are completely different. And, if anything, KHJ is prettier but SYJ has more charisma.
Lifan, thank you for uploading KHJ's (and JJH's) picture. It is a small miracle that this thread came this far without any of KHJ's pictures. But regretfully, it is not one of her better pictures. Maybe, it was intentional?; you wanted JJH to shine next to her? ;D I am (half) kidding.

insensitive? what did i mention that is foul?? i was just comparing her facial expression to the female lead of LPP... and i am not criticizing the person as who he is, but how she acts... maybe that is better... as for the chemistry, maybe it worked in other countries, but it was not really a "hot" item here in the philippines?well, as you have said "nearly everybody" liked their chemistry... why did i bother to see it for a few times?? coz i wanted to have a broad mind and slowly understand why would a drama have a low/high rating... u cant make impressions on drama if u watch is ONCE... hello?!!! well, maybe DJG and other quality dramas are in exception... (Just like A Rosy Life drama, i never took time seeing that coz i thought it was boring.. but i took a shot during those times that i had nothing to do... and now, i am hooked!! i even wait till 11 PM just to finish it even when my work starts at 8 AM.. ughh!! but that's OK)

Cool down, Jasmine. Actually, I think, you should thank Kim Hyun-joo for declining the role of Janggeum if you are such a big fan of LYA. If she hadn't done that, you would probably worship at KHJ's feet now and probably don't know what LYA looks like. ;D After finishing "Miss Kim," I am now watching "Glass Slippers" and boy, she is such a cutie and such a great actress. Yeah, Kiparang is right. I am beginning to think that KHJ would have delivered better performance as Janggeum than LYA.

Idol Kiparang . . . havent heard of you.. I already miss you on the board. . . ;D what can you say about the exchanges of opinons here. You really stir them up. He .. he . . he I must see the Glass Slippers first before I can say something about KYH, though I've seen her in Miss Kim's Adventure and I can say she's bubbly there, (you know my focus was JJH ) so her acting there does not leave a mark on me. Sorry. . .
For Son Ye Jin - you can count on me. I love her in "The Classic."

Wow, Eva. Thank you so much. They are definitely more flattering. Please help me and upload more pictures of KHJ in the future, that is, if you find good ones, Okay? Eun, glad to see you back. Did you read my answer to your previous post included in (Reply #90)? You don't need to like KHJ just to please me. Heck, you don't need to like ANYBODY, ha ha. Just follow your feelings. Christine and Seoulsearcher: Hello, my friends. I really appreciate you guys' constant support. Especially, during my absence. There was a minor war raging here, wasn't there? ;D It is always such pleasure to read you guys' posts. Jasmine (and other LYA fans out there): You are, of course, free to come here and post. Especially, since this board is about KHJ vs. LYA. But we should never raise our voice, but try to be civil to each other always, even if we are of different opinion. After all, we are all here because of our common love of Korean Wave. Lifan, where are you? Are you busy or something? I hope you were not offended because of my comment on your posting of KHJ picture. I was kidding, of course. I already miss our daily conversation. Folks, I will be back later this afternoon for analysis of the remaining cast of the "Glass Slippers."
