I'm just dying to know. It seems that, given the current pace of the drama, we'll never know how the pregnancy turns out! I hope they fast forward at the end or something!
Just musing,

Just musing, That is indeed an interesting question. Earlier Choko had revealed that the Empress in DJG is the same historical Empress portrayed in Yeoin Cheonha/Women's World/Ladies of the Palace, another Joseon-era harem political drama about the Queen versus the concubines and their heirs. I don't remember if Yeun-seng's character (her rank is, I believe, that of the Soo-geon ma-ma in DJG) is depicted as well in that series. Anyone who is particularly intrigued by the aristocratic Royal Ladies in DJG should definitely watch Yeoin Cheonha because it is just costumes, hairdos, ceremonies, etc. galore.

We will have to speed forward 4 months with that. Which should mean the Chois to be taken care of first.
Original # episodes nearing so it has to wind up a lot of stuff.

Of course, there were many women King Joong-jong loved in the history, thus, there COULD be a Yeon-seng-like character, but... Anyway, drama "Yeoin cheonha(Women's world)" did not have a character like Yeon-seng. ;D And... jacques. I fogot saying some important point. At this time, the young queen (Queen Moon-jeong) already has a son according to a historical timeline. However, her little son is too young to be a heir of the kingdom. Therefore, the queen needs the king as long as possible, while Sir Oh and Chois doesn't necessarily need the king because they are already holding the crown prince.

Excellent point about Empress Moon-jeong and her little son, Choko. Also, it's enlightening to know that the Yeon-seng character was fictitious. I watched Yeoin Cheonha right thru the final episode, and there was NO relatively naive and beguiling character like her anywhere! ;D Those imperial concubines on Women's World/Ladies Of The Palace (as it was called where I watch) knew what they were doing and were playing hardball with the court ministers.

So, she's more a composite character than a fictitious character. She represents the many, many concubines in the king's life. I like that she exists in this drama. She is, indeed, a 'naive and beguiling character' who adds a great deal to the story, not to mention her role in getting the king and JG together privately. Bo

I think that really is this character's purpose, to further along the plot narrative.
