Listen then to the words of our wise leader. The case against one Lady Choi, onetime head court lady of the royal kitchens (and aunt of the present head kitchen lady, Choi Keum-young) for the practice of black arts, has been thoroughly discredited. Your king, may he live so long forever, has determined, through the auspices of court scholars and astrologers, that reports of Lady Choi's being swept up into a hurricane while cackling, "Let's see what's what with that Oh family in a few centuries!" are merely the rantings of ignorant peasants and easily duped foreigners. The Lady Young-ro has been released. As stated by Sir Oh Kyum-ho, "This lady had only to begin to speak for all to understand her innocent integrity--her words rang as do bells." This lady witnessed Lady Choi stating calmly that she was going on a long journey, one where none could follow, and walking bravely onto a ship bound for China, in search of beneficial herbs for the betterment of the Korean people.
All who continue to spread gossip and bad report about the Choi family will be severely punished by the palace police.
His grace is immeasurable.
