Hi everybody,
I live in Southern California and has been watching Dae Jang Geum for the last two months. It has been aired on Monday and Tuesday nights withouth subtitle. Most of the time I was guessing what everybody was talking.
Yesterday was the 46th episode.
Does anybody know when the English or Chinese subtitle release? Has someone been taping this show from the beginning that maybe I can borrow or able to send me duplicate?
Thanks.
Lena

Someone connected with the local Chicago station did the subtitles; I believe the subtitled version is only seen on our station.
We're at about episode 31 or 32.

I've been doing some surfing, and there's supposed to be chinese subtitles available already, and english subtitles reputed to be released "soon".. i'll visit again and post more; this is my first time here.. BTW: i'm in chicago, watching Ch 28 every Fri/Sat. 8pm (like a fiend/ almost got into it/w roommies to watch or tape the occasional episode)
I have one more friend who comes by to catch it, as well as another (2 degrees of separation) who are riveted to this! I'm thankful that I stumbled across it on the premiere episode, but moreso that there's english subtitles... this is an absolutely incredible show! Gotta get the word out, or perhaps if the timing/sychronization is polished a bit more, that WYCC local 20 or Ch 11 PBS could pick this up; even at odd hours, its SO worth it!
Be back soon! Acoluthus
ps: 2 anglos and an af. amer. viewer represented here..

You guys, I totally love this series. This will be the second Korean series I have followed without subtitles (the first being Yeoin Cheonha which was worth watching for the imperial catfights!). I totally relate to the Pan-Asian themes of struggle, strife, and ultimate vindication personified by the title character Janggeum (in fact, I have to channel all my Asian ancestors to understand an iota of the Korean dialog). I find the storyline very inspirational; makes me want to sign up for Korean language courses and go on that movie tour of Korea!

If possible can I get a copy too...I'm stuck in Champaign Il until the end of the school year so I miss episodes frequently because we don't get KBC down here sad times...I got addicted to the show over winter break and then it was all taken away...my mother has no clue how to work a vcr so I'm at a great loss.

Hi, I have to say that I love Jang Geum. This is the second Korean drama that I watched. The first was The Bodyguard, which I loved and was very addicted to. However, Jang Geum was moved to another time slot and I have missed like the last 3 or 4 episodes. I'm kinda lost. Is she back at the palace already?
