Their subplot has been languishing for months now. They've settled into a pattern of sarcastically calling each other "in-law" and sniping at each other. (And speaking of red herrings, what about that three-episode dealie with Ki-soo and the pro wrestlers? That went nowhere in a hurry!)
So what's going to happen? I don't think the writers can wrap it up satisfactorily in the last three episodes, so what we'll probably see is either a quick "Will you marry me?/OK" thing, giving short shrift to all that's gone before, or one of the patented Korean Drama Flash-Forward series-ending scenes, showing them married and with a baby (better hurry, S-O!), still bickering and pouting at each other.
If Minjae goes to America, this hypothetical flash-forward might have him returning after several years overseas w/ YJ and kids in tow, but somehow I think Peter Kang is going to let MJ stay and may in fact end up being friends with the whole family and living in Korea.
Finally, as much as I hated Myung-joo, it was good to see her at peace. I never would have thought she'd have learned a lesson from all her machinations having come to naught.

If Min-jae really leaves Nice Granny and family for America, I will be very disappointed! That will be the worst ending to a drama since Dear Encounter (where the main character marries her rapist). Although It is certain that the very last epi. will bring Min-jae and Yu-jin back to Yanjaedong (sp?) for a family portrait. But still. Finally, as much as I hated Myung-joo, it was good to see her at peace. I never would have thought she'd have learned a lesson from all her machinations having come to naught. It almost seemed impossible for that woman to find peace. I didn't think it could happen, although I don't think she'll show up for Hyun-kyu's family portrait! ;D

I'm actually hoping MJ will go to America at least to spend some time with Peter. That'll give Grandma a lesson in humility.
Something I don't understand: why wouldn't Soon-ok be able to marry Tae-ho now that their is no apparent opposition? Before they couldn't marry and they would be forced to elope, but isn't the basic problem already solved?

Maybe they're so used to the drama of being self-styled "tragic lovers" that they don't notice the problem has gone away. But actually, Soon-ok seems to be asking herself the same question: "Elope? What did I do wrong?" or something like that.

I thought it was appropriate that the series ended with them still bickering about it. I figure they WILL get married, but it is so true to the characters that even with everything else all tied up for the end of the show, they still can't get on the same page at the same time.
