How cold does it really get in Seoul? I can’t imagine it could be any worse than a Chicago winter, so what’s all the hubbub about Hye-ran nearly dying when she’s only been there for a couple of hours?
She's got a jacket on for good's sake. And doesn't anybody believe in hats?

As I understand it, it does get very cold in Seoul, but, IMO, it's a bit of a stretch to make it seem like "poor" Hye-ran is in mortal danger from being locked in a warehouse for a few hours in the cold. She was coughing a lot before, and I think they need this as an excuse for her to develop a life-threatening illness to move the plot along. My guess is that she's going to go into the hospital, get hooked up to one of those glass IV bottles they love to show in K-dramas, look beautiful and delirious for a day or so, and have HK and her make up despite all the odds.
Bo-ring!

Obviously she never experienced a Chicago winter. Anyways she was looking good despite the fact of being in the hospital. Here's a thinker: Why does she still have make up on?

Korea is known for its cold winters. Just last week, they had nearly two feet of snow dumped on them.
During the Korean War, this was a big issue. The North Korean, and, even more so, the Chinese troops had uniforms that were design for the cold. The American forces had "winter" uniforms that did almost no good at all.
A former boss of mine who served in Korea told me they have two seasons there: Ice and Dust.
