Is it just me or is OMR repeating some of the same plot lines. I've been watching all this week and haven't been motivated enough to actually take the time and post about anything outstanding that happened.
Some plot lines moved right along and now I kinda think that their going a little too sluggish.
Nice to see Yujin and Minjae so happy, but like someone else said, I was hoping this drama would skip the whole grandaughter-in-law tries to win over grandmother-in-law.

The best part of Tuesday night's episode was Min-jae's mom shopping for fish with her $5,000 Kelly Bag around her arm! I am only watching OMR because I am in love with Min-jae, and Yu-jin is my fashion hero. Their marriage is something to watch! Hyun-kyu has redeemed himself to me with his new haircut and the way he handled himself over the holiday (was it New Year's?). Telling mean granny she'll only be lonely and trying to make MJ and the family feel better was pretty admirable. I agree this show is moving like mud right now, hopefully the arrival of of HK's aunt will speed things up. ****On a side note, why do loan sharks in Korean Dramas have such happy names for their companies? Remember Moon-hee's mom's business in To Be With You, Green Friends? And now Rainbow - something? I am waiting for Hye-ran to visit Care Bear's Payday Advance to help her mom with the bills!

I agree there is a lot of reiteration, if that's what you meant. Grandma is such a colossal bore; no matter how many times the entire rest of the family tells her that they consider Min-jae a part of the family, she insists he's not. If the family thinks he's a part of the family, then he is, says I! What chance does Grandma think she has of prevailing? She is so mean and stupid (sorry for the harsh language) that she thinks that just by stolidly repeating her opinion she can make it true, but apparently she'll be satisfied with just ruining Min-jae's life if she can't kick him out of the family. It's getting very wearying. I feel like we've been slogging through the same issues for ages and ages, and now we have the further downturn of Mi-joo practically being kidnapped by her father (though I do understand it in the context of Korean society). How much can one little daruma fan bear?
I do love seeing MJ and YJ happy, really I do, but it's getting to be a tad much. If I knew these two in real life, I'd probably think they were sickening. But still, I'm glad MJ has YJ to make up for all the rejection he's had in his life. ("my adorable husband" = cuteness from Yu-jin) Go, Min-jae! By the way, wasn't that a cute younger picture of MJ on the document Hyun-gyu's aunt got ahold of?

Jenny, that's hilarious! I don't remember there being a loan shark named, though. Are you a Chicago viewer?

I'm a Chicago vewier. I'm just lumping the aunt into the loan shark category because it seems like she is gonna use this money to try and oust MJ from his position. Kind of like what Moon-hee's mom did in TBWY. And since her co. has such a friendly name.......

Me thinks Jenny is referring to Rainbow Korea (HK's aunt's company name) which is, I think, some kind of finance company. Depending on the interest rate though, it could very well be referred to as a loan shark.
I also love to see the way Yujin dresses, she's doing this wavy thing with her hair now which looks lovely on her. But when is she going back to work? I hope this isn't another case like in Who's My Love where the eldest daughter-in-law had a DOCTORATE and became a housewife! I guess it's alright if that's what she really wanted to do, but come on!

Galacticchick, I wondered the same thing about Yu-jin because she's acting like she's a housewife now (not that there's anything wrong with that), but then I remembered that she had been in to the office and Hye-sung told her there wasn't much to do because of the holiday. I think Yu-jin might have herself on some kind of half-holiday in honor of her honeymoon and is using the time to do a "Married Eye for the Single Guy" on Min-jae's (now their) apartment. She's just playing housewife (I hope).
About that expensive handbag--wow, the characters on this show clearly spend a lot of money on their clothes. They are very well-groomed in general. When I tune in to some of the other Korean dramas (the non-subtitled one that is on later in the evening, for example), it's like they live in a different world from the OMR people. Everything looks a little grittier, they're not as good-looking, and they certainly don't dress as well. I love the fantasy of the Good Life that OMR gives me. It's like watching "Absolutely Fabulous" used to be for me.
I agree, Yu-jin is very lovely. I didn't like her bangs-only hairstyle, but I'll take this opportunity to say that I *did* like her wedding hairstyle, unlike a couple of others here. I love her more mature look, in contrast to Hye-ran. She's just the bee's knees as far as I'm concerned.

Yep, there certainly aren't any mullet wearing rednecks who shop at k-mart on this show.

I haven't been watching OMR for the past month and a half (first because I had been getting such bad reception and it was impossible to see or hear anything, and then I sort of lost interest) but I started watching again this week. The episode I picked back up on is the one where Min-Jae and Yu-Jin come back from their honeymoon, and at the very end of the episode, In-Hwan orders Min-Jae to bow first, prompting old granny to storm out.
It was so weird! Either my eyes are deceiving me, or Hyun-kyu and Min-Jae both put on a few pounds. And Hye-Ran looks so frumpy; I remember her to be much more polished and neat, apearance wise. (although I'm guessing she frumped up a little after Hyun-Kyu dumped her.) Yu-Jin looks so much more beautiful than when I last saw her. I'm guessing she had a change in hairstyle. What was also really weird is that when I left OMR, Min-Jae hated Hyun-Kyu's guts, Min-Jae was saying "I hate you" to Hae-Ran, Hyun-Kyu and Hae-Ran were blissfully in love; now, Min-Jae and Hyun-Kyu are acting like real brothers, Min-Jae is once again a brother figure to Hye-Ran, and Hyun-Kyu and Hae-Ran are no longer a couple.
Sorry, this has been a really long post...but good to see you guys all again...

Welcome back, Elbs. I won't attempt to fill you in on what's happened, but as for the characters' appearances, they change all the time! Especially Hyun-kyu and Yu-jin, who has been experimenting with hairstyles. Hyun-kyu's lips appear to have gotten smaller and his hair has gone from blond and punky (which you saw at the beginning of the series) to longer and darker, to rather businesslike, and now he's got some highlights back. I guess young men in Korea can do a lot of stuff to themselves with their grooming and it passes w/o comment (even though their society seems pretty conservative overall). Even Min-jae is looking a bit different to me in the last few episodes, though I can't put my finger on it. Maybe he is a little heavier, but I thought it was something to do with his hair.
Oh, by the way, a lot of Min-jae's change in behavior has to do with Yu-jin. She has been so consistently loving and supportive of him that he is feeling better and learning to trust and open up to people. He is over Hye-ran, though YJ is a bit insecure about her still. There have been some touching scenes between MJ and HK as they grew closer as brothers, but it was only last week that HK began calling him "big brother." It was a big deal.

i noticed the hair changes too. Min-jae's hair was a bit more spikey at the time and has softened since he got married.

how long has Hyun-Kyu's aunt been appearing? That woman is FREAKY! I just saw the episode where she meets with Hyun-Kyu, and finally, I saw that she could be warm and kind; but the rest of the time, she is just scary.

She has been appearing for just the past few episodes. Her husband is a Korean-American financier who Dong-pyo is looking to for funding to build a golf course with In-hwan. Are they in for a surprise. . .
