In watching yesterday's episode I just thought "Huh?!?" throughout the whole thing.
Okay, MJ was looking at the necklace he was supposed to give Hye-ran, HK walks in, pretty much tells him he has to give it to her.
Then they are having drinks and who brings up the necklace? Hyun-kyu.
Who insists on MJ giving it to Hye-ran? Hyun-ku.
But who gets blamed for the uneasyness created? Minjae. Meow? Did I miss something? I would have thought that they would be mad at HK for pushing the topic when it was obvious that it was making everyone else uncomfortable. No wonder Minjae held a grudge for all these years.
One more thing. I must be one of those people who likes to see fights because I am unsatisfied w/this whole "everybody be friends" attitude/atmosphere that is being created by the love-square (MJ, HR, HK & YJ).

Yu-jin is slightly jealous, hence the blame.

Yu jin has a right to be jealous/angry. I WAS Hyun kyu who insisted on Min jae giving Hye ran the necklace. That is extremely insensitive of him (what a man thing to do!). Min jae should have told Hyun kyu to foget it. The necklace should have been given to Min jae's mother or something. Maybe he should have thrown it away! I doubt Yu jin would have wanted it anyway. It wasn't meant for her . At least Hye ran understood that it was not in good taste.

Min-jae was actually uncomfortable with the whole idea since the beginning...(you could tell by just looking at his face...and during their get-together, he certainly wasn't smiling when Hyun-kyu told him to give it to Hye-ran ) and Min-jae said even said he was going to throw it away, when Hyun-kyu asked about it... but still, it was Hyun-kyu who picked it out of his hand, Min-jae never told him it was a gift for Hye-ran, but Hyun-kyu upon looking at it realized that this was purchased by Min-jae in Germany and put two-and-two together and hola! He made the suggestion to give it to Hye-ran during their get-together.......(I recall checking the CA site and how this scene was discussed).... and the only reason Min-jae assented to Hyun-kyung's request was as a conciliatory gesture to Hyun-kyu (since even Yu-jin was encouraging him in that direction as well)...yes, it was a bad idea and Min-jae deserves a little bit of the blame (but just remember, in all fairness, he never wanted to give it in the first place), and he was later apologetic towards Yu-jin...but it was Hyun-kyu who put him in a spot...so that knucklehead deserves at least 99 percent of the blame!

Maybe I'm missing something fundamental about Korean culture (that must vary radically from Western culture in respect to appropriate relationship behavior), but I can't think of anything worse than Min-jae giving an expensive necklace he bought for Hye-ran when he was in love with her (and still is) and hoped she would marry him, now that she is engaged to his stepbrother -- in front of his finacee no less!
Why would he listen to Hyung-gyu on this, or anything? This is a kook who plays sophomoric pranks to amuse himself (often at the expense of others) and whips out a pair of gag glasses with a rubber nose attached to "liven up" conversation.
I don't care that HG put MJ up to it --- the man should have enough sense and brains to realize that one was a gigantic no-no. I can just imagine what Dr. Phil would do with that one!
How awkward for everyone involved -- except for the clueless Hyung-gyu apparently. Major raspberries to both men on this one...very, very bad move.
