Soju had this in a post about "The Kiss":
"I can't get over how different Park Hyo-chung's Granny is in this show than the one she played in 'Who's My Love'."
I can't remember seeing her in that show. (Which I watched almost religiously, because I LOVED IT.) Who was she, or did I misunderstand this statement?
I tried to look up the cast list on The Korean TV Drama Infocenter (www.koreanwiz.org), but it's "temporarily disabled". (I hope this really is temporary because it helps me keep things straight.)

I know that mean granny was in "To Be With You," she was Oh Keum-bong's goofy mother. She was the one in love with "Mr. Poet," ran the concession stand at the movie theater, and later opened up a restaurant with the squeaky little landlady (the one that pulled out Moon-hee's mother's hair). I don't remember her in WML either, but mean granny's character is very similar to the widow with the 2 unmarried daughters (the dentist and the cafe owner). Very angry and loud! Here is the "Who's My Love" home page: mylove.kbs.co.kr/ Maybe this could help until Koreanwiz is up and running?

Yah, Jenny, now I remember her! But I really don't think she was in Who's My Love. (That upstairs grandmother really was a loud one, wasn't she. And so vain! I loved her.)
Speaking of the "squeaky little landlady", she's about my favorite Korean actor. She was the younger aunt in "Who's ML" and she was on "Tender Hearts"--I just think she's so versatile and interesting to watch. I decided to watch "The Great Jang-geum" because I saw she was a main character, though I haven't worked out quite who she is because I've only watched the last half hour of one episode.
Thanks again.

When OMR started, I was sure that Kwe-boon was the same actress as the grandmother on WML, but now I'm unsure. I went to check on the Wiz, but as occasionally happens, the site is temporarily disabled due to being too popular. By grandmother, I don't mean 'Third Floor Grandma', who ended up being my favorite character on that show who wasn't played by Kyun Mi-ree (who played the younger aunt). Kyun Mi-ree plays Jang-geum's cooking instructor.

I went to check on the Wiz, but as occasionally happens, the site is temporarily disabled due to being too popular. Thanks, Soju. That grandmother on WML was the same lady who played the Alzheimer's grandmother on Green Prairie (the one the nice fellow rescued, starting his run of good luck), but she's not on OMR. Her personality seemed similar to this grannie (and is "Kwe-boon" the actor's name or the character's?), but I think WML grandmother was nicer underneath. I'm sorry to sound so unintelligent, but as I mentioned, I really rely on Korean Wiz to keep names straight, and it's not there. Thanks for the info on Kyun Mi-ree's role in Great Jang-geum. Bo

...(the one that pulled out Moon-hee's mother's hair Hey, speaking of Moon-hee's mother ("Okindong Mama", not "Big Mother"))--was that the same actress who is playing the downtrodden Soon-Young on this drama? Bo

Hooray! The Wiz is back up! Just shows what a wonderful resource that site is; when its down, we ask, "Hey, wasn't that, uh, what was her name in that show?", and the answer is "Uh, I'm not sure".
So, courtesy of the Wiz:
Mal-hee in 'To Be with You, and Kwe-boon in OMR are played by Park Hyo-jung.
Grandma in 'Who's My Love" (no name given) and Alzheimers Grandmaother on 'Green Prairie' are played by Yuh Woon-kye.
Kim Duk-jae (third floor Grandma in WML) was played by Jung Hye-sun .
Park Jung-hae (Moon-hee's step-mpther in 'To Be with You') played by Lee Hyo-chun.
Sun-young in OMR is played by Lee Hye-sook.
Just going back to these character pages brings back memories. I wonder when we'll see another Drama with Jung Hye-young, the delightfully twisted Jae-hee in 'To Be with You' (my favorite character in that show).

I think I saw her when I tuned into one of the non-captioned dramas the other day. At least, I said to myself, "That's that twisted brat from 'To Be With You' isn't it!" Bo

Was Jae hee Moo hee's sister on tbwy? I remember her. She refused to accept her sister being with the guy she also was in love with... She WAS a brat! But next to Ja young on YH i think this actress is 2nd prettiest. i've never seen her in anything else..

Whatever show it is on WOCH that ends at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays, she was in the last scene today. I happened to turn it on for the last few minutes. In the end-previews, I also saw Jung Young Sook (Jiyeun's mother in WML). Bo
