Anyoung Haseyo! i'm glad i found this site! all this time i thought i was alone watching k-drama i looked all over and couldn't find anyone watching YH or anything, everyone lived in korea, finally i find someone in US that like k-drama and all! I'm 16, a boy of course and i live in NJ (609). I hope i find some more people that live near me to talk to but i'm just glad enough that i found all of you. Well, i guess that's all, sorry this isn't really starting a discussion or anything but i'm just glad i'm here! How does everyone like OMR so far? I think it's off to a slow start but, that's how most K-dramas start out. At the begining it's hard to get into the characters and the story but after a while you feel like youve known them your whole life and you are friends with them. I had a crush on Mi-ryung from YH lol yes, i'm stupid lol but she is cute! well, i hope you reply to this! bai bai

Welcome, jin ho! There are a few people from NJ who post here, as a matter of fact I think they had a party recently to mark the end of YH. But you are more than welcome to post here! I started watching K dramas when I was 16 too, and have been hooked ever since. I'm sure OMR will pick up speed very soon, the fans in CA are ahead of us and promise that it will!

I'm 20 and not Korean, but I am soooo happy that there are other people in my area (PA 610) that watch Korean drama. I am sooo hooked on YH. I watch it everynight right after I come home from work. I was shocked to see it end when I just started watching it. I don't know too much about OMR, but I'll give it a try and will continue to do so with other Korean dramas that catch my eye. ;D

Note to Jin ho (new member)... This is the only place most of us have to discuss the K-dramas. I've spent 6 years watching & never had anyone to talk to about it. We are of ALL ages, races, genders... I love the different people that join the discussions... We only have each other when it comes to the dramas... I have had someone tape them for me (a Korean family I barely know) when I was not able to watch an episode. I'm not Korean. I'm not 16. I'm not male. I'm the GRANDMA.... And i LOVE that males (especially young ones like you) are watching these & talking to us about them... We all loved Yellow Handkerchief best... I guarantee you will love OMR a lot though.

Well, as wonderful as this board is, we're not the only game around. There's the Yahoo Korean Drama Group, groups.yahoo.com/group/Korean_Dramas/ and the Yahoo Wang Guhn Group. groups.yahoo.com/group/WangGuhn/ , both of which have a heavy Philly/NJ contingent. Out West there's com1.akheva.com/bcjkdramasincalifornia in Southern California. Even further West, there's www.kbfd.com/eng/messageboard.htm in Honalulu, Hawaii. The only problem is that not all shows are shown in the same time frame in various areas; some are days or weeks ahead or behind other parts of the USA. Just remember to be careful what you read and write, remembering that some poeple love spoilers, and some do not. It's generally requested that those who post here be aware of the Chicago time-line for shows (that's where this board is based), and label all spoilers as such. Aside from that, welcome aboard!

Hey everyone! thanks for the warm welcome! That is true what nsheldon said, that we only have each other when it comes to k-drama. It's good that there are many different races, ages, and different people that post here, this gives us a wide veriety of perspectives so we can view the same thing in many different ways and get different ideas all from the same thing. That makes it interesting! Well, i'm in classes now and the teacher is telling me to do something so i should go now! take care everyone!

I just finished reading some of the posts today and I am sooo sooo happy that I found this site. Now I have other people to communicate with when it comes to K-drama. None of my friends undrstand why I watch K-drama and they think I'm crazy. I enjoy K-drama because it's much more realistic than American soap operas. So glad I found you guys. Oh and OMR, starting to get interesting, "loving it, loving it!" ;D ;D

NiNi... we are ALL happy we found this site... We've all expressed how great it is to have someone to just TALK to about the K-dramas because none of us have anyone at home (family/friends/neighbors) to discuss it with... I was overjoyed at finding sites too... It's just so good to have people out there that see what wonderful shows K-dramas provide... I used to watch All My Children, General Hospital & One Life to Live... Have given them all up... Nothing there but trash.. The K-dramas have moral issues & family values... There is wonderful romance & even some comedy. I treasure these dramas..... I am very happy every time someone discovers this site because they are so happy by it...

Not only do family and friends not understand my liking for Darumas - the staff at Korean restaurants and markets seem equally baffled when I tell them I like the shows

You know, I have a co-worker who is 100% Korean. He is 30. He lives here in CA & has NO FAMILY here at all & NO FRIENDS as yet. I talk to him about the K-dramas & he just laughs at me I told him he's gonna have to start watching OMR because "I" want someone to talk to about it... I'm working on him... Other people I tell about this drama ALL just keep saying, "How can you watch a show that has English subtitles?" I just tell them they don't know what their missing.....I'm just glad there are others who feel the same as me... The best thing about these boards is that it matters not what race, sex, age you are to join the discussions....

Wow! It seems like we have all experienced the same reaction from our family and friends! Although I know this Korean woman who works at my mom's hair salon, and she doesn't think I'm nuts! She appreciates that I understand her culture and enjoy learning about it. For my birthday she gave me 2 figurines, a bride and groom in traditional costume (remember Tae Young and Mi Ryung's wedding?). It must be a relief to encounter a non-Korean who understands her culture, since she is surrounded by clients who sometimes get frustrated with her english. She has never seen YH though. I guess native Koreans have no use for english subtitled programming!
