Do any of you 28ers know if there is still an annual Asian American parade in mid-May? I attended what I believe was the first one, in Downtown Chicago, maybe 8 or 9 years ago, and I missed the subsequent ones, but remember they were covered on the local news. Haven't heard about any such event in recent years though. Surely someone out there knows what I'm talking about.

Judging from this deafening silence, I surmise that there is no longer a mid-May Parade for Asian-American Heritage Month in Chicago . Is anyone curious as to why it was discontinued after a short run? Would have been a great opportunity for those on the forum to meet at a streetcorner and shoot the breeze. I want to keep hammering this until I get an answer. If I find out on my own I'll let you know. www.transitchicago.com/news/archpress.wu?action=displayarticledetail&articleid=105713 (the best I could do. Where were YOU on June 5, '99, Chicagoans?)

I don't know about a parade, but I note that the ads we've been seeing for a performance of traditional Korean music is part of Asian-American Heritage Month. Does anyone know where this will be? All the details in the ad are in Korean. I can figure out the time and date, but I got nowhere with the place (all I could translate was the word "place" )
