Here are some various things I love about Age of Warriors: Feel free to add your own! 1- that "zing" sound that is made when the swords are removed from their sheaths (zing, zing, zing went the swords!) 2- that there is a character on the show (Ui-min) nicknamed "the ARCHFIEND!" 3- Ui-min's principal armor with the gold eagle heads on each shoulder (and the other one with a blackened eagle head on one shoulder, other shoulder bare) 4- the clank of the warrior's chain mail as they walk about the palace grounds 5-Kyung Dae-seung, an apprehensive, frustrated do -gooder 6- the great cause (I keep hoping it will be realized) 7- that the Empress Dowager can always be found sitting at that table of hers commenting upon things with the other Empress who sits to her left 8- those close-ups of the actors faces from differing camera angles when a tension filled stand-off is about to begin 9- Kyung Dae-seung's retainer (is that the right word?) (anyhow, I think his name is Lt. Kim?) and Brue - I think them good, loyal, honest men 10- Kyun's penchant for breaking pottery when angry 11- Bu-jong's sweet (and determined) mannerisms and her wanting to make Ui-min a better man Also, Ui-min's respect for her 12- the actor who plays Ui-min. Fabulous! and 13- Chung Jung-bu's long silver hair and beard. I marvel at it; it's a work of art, beautiful shining silver! No wonder he overthrew the government when those officials burnt it on him!

Of course, like everyone here, I like the writing, the acting, the characters, and the spectacular costumes. Here's an additional one. I like the warriors' distinctive personal weapons. Of these my favorites are/were: 1. Yi Ko's twin swords worn diagonally across his back---very stylish 2. Yi Ui Bang's iron club 3. General Park's twin daggers (that, sadly, he only gets to throw once). 4. General Du's bow and arrows.
Not on the list--Yi Ui Min's axe. I agree with those that think it just looks too goofy.

I'm suprised no one said the suspenceful and tense endings. I also like the begining and end fotage. Finally, the begining music is pretty good. I sure do love it. Oh...don't forget about the weird clink noises when swords cross.

Oh...don't forget about the weird clink noises when swords cross. Yes the cliffhanger endings are amazing. It kills you when you have to wait nearly a week (if it's the second day of the back-to-back) for the resolution. I like the opening frames and music, too, although I would rate the opening significantly below my all time favorite in that regard, which was a Japanese historical drama about the time of Ashikaga Yoshimasa and the Onin War that ran about 10 years ago in the SF area. That one had this music that started quietly but resolutely with a view of a leaf floating down a stream, then the music builds to a scene with a waterfall, then reaches a heartrending climax with scenes of a frozen landscape with the frozen bodies of dead warriors before quieting down again. Unforgettable. That was also my second favorite Japanese drama of all time (favorite was the first part of the triple series on Hiraizumi--a series that also chronologically overlaps AOW)--although none of those Japanese dramas was anywhere near as good, in my opinion, as AOW.

Crazy man arrested for murdering a man quoted this incident for justifying his murder to a reporter who tried to interview him. "During Goryeo dynasty, Kim Bushik's son(Kim Don-jung) burnt Chung Jung-bu's beard. Chung Jung-bu never forgot the grudge from that day and killed him on the day he began his Warrior Rebellion. Burning's Chung's beard may have been just a fun joke for Kim Bushik's son, but for Chung, it was a big enough grudge to kill the man who did it to him." news.naver.com/main/read.nhn?mode=LSD&mid=sec&sid1=001&oid=001&aid=0011030881
