Episodes: 24 Broadcast: 1992/08/17~1992/11/03 Cast: - Shin Hye Su as Jang Yeojin/Lee Seonyoung (Zhang Hanyan/Fang Siying)
- Kang Mun Young as Yu Aeri (Irene Ou)
- Nam Seong Hun as Baek Gyeong Hun (Bai Peiwen)
Adapted from Taiwanese romance author Chiung Yao's "Deep Garden εΊι’ζ·±ζ·±". The 2nd of two Korean adaptations SBS made of her novels (the other being Calendula ιηθ± the year before). Chiung Yao's books, dramas and movies are famous throughout East Asia, and the book itself had been translated for Korean audiences just a few years back. All character names are as seen in the Korean translation as opposed to the original Mandarin. Plot: Baek Gyeong Hun met Jang Yeojin by chance, and was impressed by her noble and pure temperament. So, after Baek's efforts, they started a hard love process. After the marriage, Baek's mother was dissatisfied with Yeojin because of her shameful past. Yeojin endured humiliation and finally ran away in a heavy rain, and her whereabouts were unknown. Later, a ruthless fire burned down the Baek's residence, and Gyeong Hun became blind. Ten years later, Yeojin revisits the old place with stage 4 cancer as Lee Seon Young, her daughter's primary school teacher. She saw Gyeong Hun, who was blind in both eyes, and her lovely daughter. She found that she couldn't live without them anymore...
That at least is the general plot.

I know that girl Eri was doing it but she stopped at Ep 4 . I have my version of eps 1-4 as well. I think we both stopped at 4 because we found out our copy of Episode 5 is actually Episode 9.

Finished this show! It was weird, coming from the original to this. Some scenes I hoped for were cut either due to budgets, story changes, broadcast warnings and the stuntsman who died filming Episode 17 (this show was instrumental in the fight for stuntsmen's rights in KR). Even the ending was weird (for spoiler reasons). Lots of American 80s ballads and fancy hotels though.
