(click for full size) Did ya try watching this episode? Geez most of it was a real snoozefest. Especially in the first half, it sure felt like they were simply trying to kill time. “No, nothing happened.” We all know he isn’t going to kill her. Maybe the scene went on too long, but it wasn’t bad in spite of us knowing he wouldn’t kill her. And in the end, nobody saw it happen so it’s his word against hers if she tries to make trouble about it. Didn’t see that coming! Nice piece of writing there. “In the past she would have faked an abortion by now and raised a commotion.” That was funny--and she’s right. “Even if he gave an order, they can meddle with it all they want, and the governor of Haeju is one of Kim Sang-ro’s men.” Sado is proving himself time and again to be a smart guy, very perceptive. One thing that totally worked well was how they showed everyone’s reactions to the prince being searched. Neat how they did that, going all around to so many different people and showing the range of reactions. And towards the end there was some good stuff about Sado’s behavior and LH’s observations about it. For the first time in a while they’re getting to the core issues about Sado’s mindset, which is the most important thing and the thing we should be focusing on, not all of that Mistress Moon silliness. So maybe this thing will perk up as the end gets closer.

It's a pity (relief?) that YouTube cut out the audio here, that videogame BGM would've absolutely ruined the mood. Here it is anyway!

Oh good heavens what a joke. I ran that through Shazam and it's from an album released by Vangelis (that's the group who made that ridiculous soundtrack for Chariots of Fire that so many people thought was so wonderful). Looks like they muted it rather than pay the royalties for it, since there would be some significant royalties. Probably explains all of the muting Arirang did.
And now that I think about it, it probably wasn't Arirang who muted it, it was the person who posted the series on YouTube. YouTube is very aggressive about any snippet of copyrighted music showing up in someone's posted videos. Even if it's in the background and even if it's an accident.
Thank you for digging up a clip, though. Is this from some other website that has the series posted without any muting?
p.s. I wonder if Vangelis paid any royalties to Carl Orff's estate...cause somebody was pretty clearly channeling Carmina Burana there.

Oh this was from when I watched the series back in 2017 or so. The same uploader had a different YouTube channel with the same videos, except they weren't muted then.
