Hmm....can't help but feel this is a repeat of "it's too soon for Yi Seonggye to be calling Bangwon a beast."
Then again, there's only eleven episodes left. Not sure if we should blame the network for the episode count or the writing team for not being able to use the breathing room properly.
Obviously, THAT will be covered. But will THIS be covered at all? Including a repeat of THAT? * * * (THAT=killing the in-laws)

OK let’s start with me taking back what I said last time about Lady Min’s outburst being so uncharacteristic that it was a continuity error. Because they ran with it. What were you thinking, how could you say such a thing, it was totally unnecessary, etc. etc....and a lot of the episode was how she and hubby had to try to come to terms with what she said. And it was all well written and thoughtful, and made for a strong episode. Up until the end, anyway...we’ll get to that. Her parents: ”Is this the real you?” ”Who could accept that? It was as good as announcing you should share the throne!” “Why are you so naive?...You just have to watch quietly, and when you see something to gain, you take it when you see fit.” At least she was honest in saying she didn’t want to be devious like LSG’s wife was--“I wish to become a proud leader from the start”—but it was just so bizarre that she'd think everyone would accept something so radical. Especially her husband and especially by just springing it on him. Bangwon: “You could protect me but you could also attack me. A commander can turn into a traitor at any time.” This is one of the most fascinating parts of the entire story—how Bangwon got this through and ended the private armies. Unfortunately the producers are breaking out the loud dissonant music again rather than letting the story tell itself. Sigh.... So Lady Min shows up at the palace after Bangwon storms away...and they let her into Bangwon’s throne room without waiting for his permission to open the doors? That would never happen. But the scene after that was good. “You were just using me. You were not dedicated to me, you just needed me.” “I am a horrifying woman. Are you satisfied now?” And she said she got her clan to agree to give up their armies, that was quite a surprise. How did she do this? After how strenuously they resisted, how did she pull it off? Maybe not as bad a deal as Park Po got, but poor Jo Yeongmu. Comes back home after LSG casting him aside, finds his soldiers being taken away from him, has a momentary freakout about it and ends up losing his job and getting exiled. Considering what he did for Bangwon, that was awfully cold. And he couldn’t even use a horse or donkey for the weapons cart, wow. Why did they show the flashback with LSG telling that other soldier to gather troops? It wasn’t Jo Yeongmu in there, it was another Jo, someone we had never seen before. I didn’t understand what the connection was or why Yeongmu would be thinking about it. Ha Ryun: “You are the one who knows no fear.” That was a great moment—he said what everybody else in the room was thinking. I love this guy. Jiran: “You go and hang out with the traitors. I am going to rest from now on.” Glad we got to see Joran leave; that was a smart scene to include. Ha Ryun to Bangwon: “That is the fate of a king. That is why I have yet to meet one who is not lonely.” Geez for a minute there you thought his head was coming off! But clearly it struck a nerve with Bangwon. Maybe we should have a Ha-Ryun-lines thread. So we get to the final sequence when Bangwon finally comes home. It looks like a solid wrap-up—she’s so happy to see him, the kids are there, it feels like they’ve worked through everything—“I want to be a good king...Help me so that I can do well”...and then they throw it all away! He offers up that “be my liege” stuff, which he didn’t need to do but in his own clumsy way he’s trying to make peace with her. And she stiffs him. And next thing we know, he’s getting crowned king and she’s at home drinking tea. Are you kidding me? ■ On November 13, 1400 AD, Lee Bang Won finally ascended to the throne. He is the third king of Joseon, King Taejong. And as of that day, Lady Min became Bang Won’s political enemy. No! Not as of that day—why are they doing this? The real story of how their relationship deteriorated is so much more interesting than this, and has several opportunities for just the kind of hyper-drama that the series craves...why go in this direction just for a couple of quick hits? Is it lack of episode time like sageuk suggested? The way their relationship has been written so far, it's been the best thing about the series. These writers could have done such a good job of presenting how the relationship gradually fell apart. This is just so very disappointing.

I didn’t understand what the connection was or why Yeongmu would be thinking about it. That was present-time, not flashback. He ordered Jo Sa-Ui to gather troops in order to rebel against LBW.

Ohhhh, that makes sense...Yeongmu was being so reflective, I misunderstood it. Thanks.

That had to be the most unenthusiastic coronation I've ever seen in a KHD...LOL.
