Dear Supporters of Asian American Programming:
WOCH-CA, Channel 41 the television station that broadcasts as the Korean American Broadcasting Company (KBC-TV), has the opportunity to be added to the channel lineup for the Comcast Cable Company here in Chicago. As you may understand, this is a very big step for our station during the U.S. Government's transition to digital television, as well as, a gain in more exposure of our Asian American Community.
In the pursuit to have Comcast executives recognize the viability of WOCH-CA, we are preparing a presentation with assisting documents. Thereby we are writing you this letter as a request to gain your support through script. We would like to accrue letters from our supporters stating the importance of Comcast Cable acquiring WOCH-CA programming to their cable channel lineup.
The following points can be made as strong arguments:
• The Comcast Company commits itself on strength through diversity, yet there is no Asian American network. With over 10 hours of locally produced programming including daily news broadcast (News 930) who better to expose our community than WOCH-CA, the only Asian American Broadcast Network in Chicago.
• WOCH-CA began broadcasting in 1989 and even through various transformations. It is still a well-recognized station in one of the top metropolitan cities of the nation by its ongoing programming and involvement in the community. Imagine if we had a larger plateau thru Comcast Cable?
• Our resources and networking has established us the ability to reach out to the various ethnicities that encompasses Chicago, including locations like Chinatown, Uptown - Argyle Street, and Devon Avenue. The want for WOCH-CA through Comcast could help raise subscriptions.
These are just a few starting points which we feel will support our case. When possible, please take the small time to compose a formal letter addressing Comcast on why WOCH-CA is a necessity to their company. Please address your letter to:
Mr. Anthony Ruopoli
Comcast
Regional Director, Strategy and Product Development
1500 McConnor Parkway
Suite 200
Schaumburg IL 60173
LETTERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY MAY 1ST, 2009.
We greatly appreciate all your assistance in this matter and will continue to provide more awareness for our Asian American Community through television programming. If there are any inquiries or needs for our services, don't hesitate to contact us. The copy of the letter may be mailed to our offices at the following address. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Donald Bae Mr. Scott Bae
