MBC Chicago has announced a new drama called "Rosy Lovers." It begins this Sunday, December 21, and airs at 4:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with a repeat airing at 6:00 a.m. the following day. (I think they mean the following weekend day--in other words, the first episode will repeat at 6:00 a.m. Saturday the 27th. But it could possibly mean Monday the 22nd. The schedule for that week hasn't been posted yet so I can't be sure.) It's a contemporary drama about a young family overcoming obstacles, with a culture-clash angle thrown in. I've attached the PDF announcement that MBC Chicago released, and Wikipedia and AsianWiki links, all of which give more information about the plot and the cast. It runs for 50 episodes, each 60 minutes long. While the leads are younger and look to be less well known, I did spot three familiar faces in the publicity image--people we're familiar with from series we've featured here. Most notably, Jung Bo Suk, who did the fantastic job playing King Gongmin in Shin Don. Also Lim Ye Jin, who had a supporting role as one of the royals in Queen Seonduk. And also Ban Hyo Jung, who we know from Iron Empress and who played Mrs. Guk in The Road Home. (Yes, the Mrs. Guk who inspired the Mrs. Guk MVP award that I give to the most sensible character in every series I moderate.) Plus a few others who we've seen on recent series not featured here.
