Lee Jong Suk has been cast as the male lead for the SBS drama Doctor Stranger. He plays a doctor that flees North Korea and ends up working at South Korea's top hospital. It'll air in April after God's Gift - 14 Days. No one has been cast to play the female lead yet. I watched Ep.1 this morning, and the storyline is that the main character actually originated from South Korea (in childhood), went to the North for political reasons with his father, and grew up there (that's as far as I've gotten). The concept is very interesting, and Ep.1 featured two of my favorite older actors, Cheon Ho-jin as a main character and Kim Sang-joon in a special appearance. 20 episodes long BTW.
Has anyone seen this drama? Whether or not you have, have you heard anything about it (good or bad)? I am trying to find a "new" drama to write a review about (it has to be 2013 or 2014, but already finished airing so I can watch the whole thing). So if you have a different recommendation of any sort, please tell me here.
Any opinions or info appreciated.
(It must be on DramaFever because I'm just that lazy, but I'll figure that out myself.)

I don't know anything about "Doctor Stranger." Does your drama have to be of a certain genre? Can it be romantic comedy? Cuz "Sly and Single Again" was excellent. Also my mom says all of her friends LOVE this drama called "Here Comes Jang Bo Ri" or "Jang Bo Ri is Here." But this drama may be one of those long ones. (And I don't know if DF has it.)

I thought the title was Dr. Strangelove (that's what my mother told me).
What? Kdramas have been stealing titles from the West anyway.

LOL! Yeah why do they do that?? That's one aspect of K-drama I'll never understand (actually one of many). Why do they insist on "borrowing" titles from over here? The other day when I went to DramaFever and saw "Pride and Prejudice" my heart jumped up to my throat. First thought that popped into my head was: "My God, Korean version of Mr. Darcy for 16 hours!!!" Then I discovered it was just the TITLE they stole, not the story!! How cruel!! I wish they would stop...

I would suggest My Love From Another Star, Secret Love Affair or Trot Lovers. LOL! Yeah why do they do that?? That's one aspect of K-drama I'll never understand (actually one of many). I'm gonna start watching this soon. Just waiting for more episodes to air. I'd love to watch it with you - I have it queued. But since I'm watching three dramas right now, it'll depend on when you start.

LOL on "Pride and Prejudice"!! I'm disappointed too fiona! Thanks so much to everyone for their suggestions, sorry I didn't check in sooner but there was stuff going on.
Okay, I'll check out these recommendations. Fi, the only "guideline" is that I have to like watching it, to wash away the flavor of "Country Princess" Also, I'd prefer something short since the holidays are coming up and I have to be done writing by early January. I have to say "My Love from Another Star" sounds good (even though that's a little longer) on the face of it, I'll definitely check that out. The description sounds rather like "My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho" so that's all good.
I couldn't find anything about "Jang Bo Ri" on DF, so I don't think it's there, but "Sly and Single" looks good, so I'll check that one too.
Thanks again guys.

Okay, then you don't want "Jang Bo Ri." It's 52 episodes.
I think my mom's secretly crushing on the lead guy of this drama. We were down in the city the other weekend and went into this pastry shop. Well, on the screen Kim Soo Hyun came on and started promoting the pastry and my mom acted like she just met up with her best friend. It was very cute. She's been trying to get me to watch this drama and "The Moon That Embraces the Sun" for ever now.
Sounds perfect.

I couldn't even begin with my mother. There should be a sitcom about her... Someone should write a book about her...

Hee hee, I actually LOVE to write. I've been keeping a journal since I was like six. I can't live without writing. Everyone who knows me makes fun of me cuz I have a journal for everything. I have my normal everyday journal, then I have a nursing journal where I write about special patients (no names, of course!), I have a book journal, a movie journal, a fashion journal... My latest one is, of course, my K-drama journal. I also have what I call "angry journal." I write in it only when I'm really really mad at someone or something. Thankfully I don't write in that one too often. But I could never write a book cuz I'd want it to be another War and Peace or Pride and Prejudice. And there's really no chance of that!!...
