I've been thinking: Sun-joo is unwilling to let go of her career even if it means that this is the "sole" reason her potential mother-in-law disapproves of her. Would she do the same if it were Tae-young's Grandmother?
This got me thinking about all the times I've read that people who rooted for Sun-joo were disappointed that TY ended up with MR. They said that Sunjoo never got to prove herself. Well, isn't she proving herself now? She's (to me anyway) putting her career in first place and not much makes me believe that she would do differently for TY. Or is it because Jonn-ha will always be second best?

Why should she give up her career? Joon-ha doesn't want her to do this. It's his mother that's making this demand. Why should she have to give up something that gives her fullfilment to satisfy the demands of a boyfriend's behind-the-times mother? This is the 21st Century. Women have the right to be in the workplace and have careers...even in Korea.
The idea that a woman's "place" is in the home, taking care of children, running the house and catering to her husband who is lord and master is grossly outdated and insulting. I wouldn't go along w/ it, just on principle.

I agree that SJ should not 'have' to give up her career. But I bet she would have in a second for TY ... But in the end she may have been unhappy & regretted it. I finally came to the conclusion that SJ & TY would not have made a good match. Even though throughout the story I felt bad they never had the chance. I think TY & SJ will always have those "first love" feelings. I believe they are both happy with the outcome though....

T-Y is doing fine with M-R…and S-J has her boyfriend as well...even though I just can't stand S-J…her acting stinks, stinks, stinks! She just keeps that same “duh” look on her face. Now, if S-J is suppose to be portraying someone who is in shock or going to be sick soon, then she would get an Oscar! Like I said before, T-Y was the one who gave any life to the “relationship” he had with S-J. I also believe S-J shouldn't give up her “acting” career…unless she wanted to for herself, but not for anyone else. Unless I misunderstood what was said, it seems like acting must be looked down upon even for a man because in yesterday's episode, S-M’s father made reference to the fact that when S-M was a child he was embarrassed his father was an actor, and then S-M said that he still felt the same as an adult.

Don’t get me wrong everyone. I wasn’t implying that Sun-joo should give up her acting career, I was just questioning if she would do the same thing (the not giving it up) if Tae-young’s Grandmother were the one asking her and if that would mean she could marry TY. It sounds pretty unreasonable to me too, but we have to remember that this is a different kind of culture were the emphasis is targeted more on the collective rather than individual “happiness”.
It’s not totally out of the question though. In one of the previous dramas, Who’s My Love, the eldest daughter-in-law held a doctorate degree and gave up her job/studies to become a full-time housewife. So is the request totally far-fetched: no.
Maybe Joon-ha’s parents have skeletons in their closet that they fear the media would bring out to light.

After seeing SJ with Joon ha, I can now say that she and TY would not have been a good match, not because SJ and JH are such a great couple, but because SJ is a lousy girlfriend. She has no passion. Even if she doesn't want to give up her career, at least she could humor him. "I'd give up anything for you Joon ha!" Throw him a bone, SJ!
