I just signed up for DramaFever Premium service last week. They were having a 50% off sale - $5 a month (usually $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year). I am enjoying the commercial free viewing!
FYI - I had to sign in to my account and then go to the home page to see the offer.

I didn't see a post for the sale on the board, so I thought I would mention it. It seems that some people watch dramas on DramaFever and wanted to post it in case someone would be interested. I have been watching older dramas on KDrama through my Roku. However, in order to watch an episode of a drama past the first one on DramaFever with the Roku you need to have a Premium membership. I have been considering this for a while and finally decided to sign up. I have watched DramaFever through the computer and didn't mind the commercials too much, but I like using the Roku better. Just my preference.

Thanks for posting about this sale, Mph. I thought since I was already premium member I didn't qualify. But then I said to myself what's the harm asking so I asked and I got the special deal too. Thanks again! Very happy!!

I'm happy that someone else was able to take advantage of the sale! I just finished Good Doctor and really enjoyed it. I watched the first episode of IRIS 2, but it didn't entertain me enough to watch episode 2. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if it gets better. So last night I watched the first episode of ST: Scientific Task Force, a Japanese drama. I had a hard time keeping up with the subtitles for two reasons. One, the main character talked really fast. Two, they are not speaking Korean. I'm not sure if I will watch episode 2 of this one either. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good KDrama to watch? Thanks!

Hi MPH- welcome to the board! What kind of dramas do you like? Maybe I could suggest some..... Here are a few(?) that I have watched in no particular order: That Winter,The Wind Blows, Tree with Deep Roots, Kindom of the Wind (great soundtrack, too), The Master's Sun, 49 Days, A Gentleman's Dignity, Baker King Kim Tak Goo, Cheondamdong Alice, Ghost, Dating Agency: Cyrano I started to make a list as I went thru DramaFever's listing and I realized I have watched waaaayyy more than I realized -- so if you are thinking of watching something, post the title and maybe someone has seen it and can tell you if they liked/disliked it. I also watch two "variety/game shows" one is "2 days, 1 Night" and the other is "Running Man"

Hi Bird11 and thanks for the suggestions! I will check them out!
I started watching Korean dramas on Channel 41 when they were televising KBS America back in 2006. The first drama I watched, and really enjoyed, was Hello, My Lady. I mostly watch romantic comedies, but have also enjoyed a couple action and adventure dramas. Some favorites that come to mind are Personal Taste, He Who Can't Marry, Road No. 1, IRIS, Golden Time, Good Doctor, Queen Seondeok, Gourmet, East of Eden, and The Queen's Classroom. I probably shouldn't say this, but also I have enjoyed some daily dramas.

I watched the first episode of IRIS (the 1st one) long ago and I really disliked it, particularly the girl lead. I actually really wanna watch "Good Doctor" because I adore Joo Sang Wook and don't mind Joo Won either, but I hate hospital settings. How did you like it?? Very intense? Okay, I made a list of my top ten favorite rom-com dramas. I had a hard time narrowing them down but I did it!! They're just in the order I watched. I keep a K-drama journal of everything I watch so I just went through it. Here they are: personal taste boys over flowers you're beautiful the greatest love master's sun oh my lady creating destiny sly and single again queen of reversals how to meet a perfect neighbor I adore Park Si Hoo. At the moment he is my "It" K-actor. But lately I've discovered Lee Seo Jin - he is just too gorgeous!! Finished watching "Lovers" and really loved it. Don't know if it's rom-com so didn't include it above. Am now watching "Yi San" which I'm really enjoying. Just about finished "Wonderful Days," the first half I really loved but is slowing down a bit in the latter half. Like Birdy says, let us know what your next drama is. Very curious which you're going to decide on. Good luck!!

Last night I watched the first episode of "Harvest Villa". It is a Kdrama that aired on tvN, which I haven't heard of before. It is a comedy/thriller, not my typical pick, but seems promising.
Fiona, I really enjoyed "Good Doctor". As with many dramas I have watched, I wanted more. I don't think it was too intense and you may be able to overlook the fact that it takes place in a hospital setting. I thought they did a good job with the characters and story. I'm sure others may feel differently, but this was one of my favorites I recently watched. I have watched "Boys Over Flowers", "Personal Taste", and "Queen of Reversals"; and would also recommend them to anyone looking for a romantic comedy. I've thought about trying both "Dating Agency: Cyrano" and "Sly and Single Again", so I think I'll take a look at them both in the near future. Again, thank you both Birdy and Fiona for your input and I'll keep you posted.

You're very welcome, mph!! It was fun making that list!
I just read the synopsis to "Harvest Villa" and it actually looks pretty good. I may add it to my Must View list. Thanks for your opinion on "Good Doctor" too. The only thing is I think the girl in "Princess' Man" (which I'm watching with Birdy these days) is the same girl in GD. I'm starting to really dislike her so I may have to hold off on GD for a while.
I really LOVED "Sly and Single Again." It was one of the best rom-com dramas I've watched. The lead guy and girl are nearly perfect in it, in my humble opinion. Whichever you select hope you enjoy!!

Good to hear from you MPH- I had forgotten all about watching "He who can't Marry"-- Ji Jin Hee is one of my favorite Korean actors. He was also in a drama "Spotlight" which I thought was good..... (keep asking Fiona and I about dramas, and we will surely give you a lifetime of choices on what to watch! )

May I put a word in for Lee Seojin's "Damo" and "Phoenix"? (One of you may have mentioned them, I'm pretty distracted right now at work but had to put my oar in LOL.) "Damo" is rather wuxia in tone, pseudo-historical, lots of fighting while flying in the air, pretty campy. And actually, "Phoenix" is pretty campy as well, but it's a modern drama. Best female spoiled-heiress villain ever. Mr. Lee is great in both of them, and I think both dramas are top-notch.

What does this mean? I have "Damo" and "Phoenix" queued already over at DramaFever. My mom recommended them to me too. I don't know if I can watch "Damo" cuz I think Lee Seo Jin is second lead and probably doesn't get the girl in the end (correct me if I'm wrong without giving anything else away - if I'm wrong I'll watch it). "Phoenix" I'm definitely looking forward to watching. Thanks, Bo!!

Fiona, I'm going to go all teacher on you: Did you look it up? LOL...
As for getting the girl...it's a little more complicated than that. That's all I'll say.
