I am up to ep 31 , i have been down with food poisoning for the last 3 days ,so i took the down time to do a massive JDJ catch up . I am really liking it so much more than when i was at ep 16 . I always thought Bangwon was more of a warrior type rather than a scholar ?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope it's cleared up now. How miserable for you, I've been there and I've had to cope with someone else in my house who has been there and it's no picnic. (Is that a pun? If so, you should excuse it...)
From Dae Jang-geum: Sun-dol: "Are you trying to dry me up and kill me? Why do you say the same things over and over every day? Rather, come and hit me once! Aigu!" But then: Dr. Lazarus: "By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan... You shall be avenged."
Thanks to some torrents and mahyar's subs, I finally managed to see the entire series and its pretty easy to see why people here liked it. I really enjoyed watching the seriesand find it refreshing to see a Kdrama not held back by the problems that chain down most Korean television. Its everything a historical nut like me wanted. If I did have some complaints, however, it has to do something with one of ajk's complaints: thre scholars trashtalking each other. Not the fact that it seems odd that gentlemen would openly insult each other like children (the writer used to be an aide for assemblymen-maybe he's seen that kind of thing happen), but it seemed so easy for the lines of the arguments to have more reasoning and logic to back up their case while still being aggressive, but in the end, the lines sometimes amount to "You suck No you suck." The series is supposed to have a "both sides have a point", so not having these reasonable lines of arguments earlier can feel like stalling.
