Well, I missed the final ep, but no biggie. I thought this was a great series, and unusual for a recent KHD, it was good from start to finish.
I feel oddly conflicted about it kind of.....Bangwon was such a sociopath, that I would have like to see someone do him in, but we need him for Sejong to make it to the throne. Strange how fate is.
I did find it ironic that Bangwon is so abhorrent to the idea of a strong Prime Minister, and yet he used his to do his dirty work (in GKS, the older PM frames Sejong's father in law to force him to commit suicide).
Anyhow, this was a fine series, with not only the usual great supporting cast, but a strong lead character that was well written and consistent. KBS is showing some kind of soap opera (?) tonite, so we just have to sit tight til the winter to see what's next down the pike.
Thanks to AJK for all the hard work and updates!

The next historical will be The Book of Corrections with Ryu Seong Ryong(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu_Seong-ryong) as the main character. I have to say this was my favorite historical of all time and I'm just hoping that The Book of Corrections will be as good as this.

Aaah I'm jealous of those who managed to see the entire series. Only the first episode has online subs and I don't have KBS.

What do you think of the show so far, MTR? Very impressed Truth ,the first three episodes were ok ,than it really kicked into another level ,reminds me a lot of the old quality dramas like Sejong .

OK, seems like I'm going to have to watch this unsubbed, since you all think so highly of it. Good thing there are recaps to help figure out what is going on (Thank you AJK).
On a related note - Tears of the Dragon - is there anywhere I can watch online that has decent quality video? The only site I found has very poor picture quality. That, coupled with the extra-dim lighting in night scenes (probably true to the era) and lack of subbing made me stop watching after the first 8 or so episodes.

Mugwump is that the version on You Tube ? .It is a struggle for sure ,i was not happy with the poor lighting either and to my knowledge the only place it aired with subs was Hawaii The TV Station KIKU did the subbing in house so it never went further than the Islands .
I made it up to Ep 12 on YT .
For some reason KBS are refusing to license JDJ to any of the on line sites like DF .Even though it aired in Chicago on PBS from a San Francisco feed you have to be a Comcast Premium customer to be able to see it ,ie spend $160 a month on cable , that aside the area of SF i live in is controlled by Direct TV who do not offer KBS ,in fact their idea of Asian TV is Bollywood or Filipino .

I have made it to episode 18 so far ,for me its good ,very good actually but not great .It has not grabbed me like say Sejong which hooked me from the first episode . I wanted to be blown away but so far its good, very good in fact .I think a lot of its strength is in being a traditional drama as opposed to the recent glut of fusion dramas .So was God Of War to be honest and that was amazing .

Well I'm glad you're getting to see it at last, MTR!
But now, now, those aren't final thoughts are they. Give it the whole ride and then let's hear what you think.

Totally AKJ ,way to early to judge and i prefer a slow burner to a drama that fizzles out before the finish line .

It takes me 9 months to finish this drama and I shall say this is the best authentic historical this year. I got hooked to it after episode 10 or 11, with the great Hwangsan battle against the Japanese pirates.
