Thanks for the translations, truth--great stuff and much appreciated as usual.
One reason it's such a shame the series was only 50 episodes is that they could have done some really interesting material with all of the princes. But I guess since JD is the title character they didn't want to get too far into prince stuff.
Anyway, I'm re-reading the episode recaps and will be working on this board this weekend. Sorry I haven't been more on top of it; just too much going on lately.

Thanks for reading, ajk. Always my pleasure.
Here's the last batch of the translation.
The First Strife of the Princes
On August 25th of 1398, Lee Bangwon and his brothers used their private army to kill Jeong Dojeon, Nam Eun, Shim Hyoseng, Lee Bangseok, and Lee Bangbeon. This event is known as the First Strife of the Princes.
Jeong Dojeon became the most powerful figure in the royal court after the foundation of new dynasty. Jeong Dojeon often compared himself to Zhang Liang of the Han dynasty by saying that "It wasn't Emperor Gaozu of Han(Liu Bang) that used Zhang Liang, but it was Zhang Liang who used Emperor Gaozu to establish Han dynasty." He was basically implying that he himself used LSG to establish Joseon dynasty. He insisted that a ruler can be replaced if he lost support from people by quoting the "Right of Revolution" by Mencius and did exactly what he said by establishing a new dynasty. Jeong Dojeon also wanted to implement a constitutional monarchy system, in which the country would be ruled by a prime minister while king would only be a symbol of the country. This was a very threatening political view to the royal family of Joseon.
On 1396, Queen Shindeok, the mother of Crown Prince Lee Bangseok passed away. On 1398, Jeong Dojeon called for the dissolution of private armies. He felt the need to strengthen the central government army and it was inevitable to dissolve private army in order to do so. Dissolution of private army, however, meant complete loss of power for Lee Bangwon. Threatened by JD, Lee Bangwon and his legitimate brothers plotted to kill JD, his faction, and his half-brothers.
Bangwon made up a fabricated story to tell his private army about how JD, Nam Eun, and Shim Hyoseng were plotting to kill him and his legitimate brothers by calling them all into palace with a lie about Lee Seonggye being ill, and that they must move first in order to stop them. On August 25th of 1398, Lee Bangwon's private army rose up to kill Jeong Dojeon and his faction. Crown Prince Lee Bangseok and his brother Lee Bangbeon were exiled and killed off a while later. When Lee Seonngye found out about the incident, he was so disappointed that he gave up his throne.
JD tried to confiscate and burn all of Bangwon's weapons 10 days before the First Strife of Princes, but Bangwon's wife Min was able to conceal some of the weapons away without Bangwon's knowledge, which allowed the First Strife of Princes to happen.
Ha Ryun and Lee Guh Yi tried to enthrone Bangwon after Taejo(LSG) gave up his throne, but Bangwon refused to take the crown and enthroned his older brother Lee Banggwa as the new king instead. However, Bangwon assumed the most powerful figure role as JD did under Taejo. Although Bangwon rebelled against JD's dissolution plan of private army, he himself felt the need to dissolve private army after he took control of power, which led to the Second Strife of Princes.

I'm perfectly serious, I got some of this history from watching Tree w/Deep Roots, and of course by our conversations at that time. This really illuminates some of the questions I had about how Lee Bangwon got away with so much. Thanks, truth.

Fascinating as always Truth ,thanks for the hard work ,really appreciate it .
Going back to earlier in the text the mass drowning of the remaining Wang family members ,this was depicted in Sejong ,funny i always thought that incident was fictional so its really interesting that it was in fact true .
