It's just now come to my attention that KBS is airing two episodes at a time each Saturday and Sunday for the next three weeks. So tonight we're getting 17 and 18; tomorrow 19 and 20; and the same for the next two weekends. Have no idea what the reason is (and boy I am not happy about how much extra work this creates for me). But I'll do my best to keep up. In any event, I wanted to make everyone aware of it.

We saw this tonite on the LA broadcast, and sure enough, back to back episodes, and the series continues to improve.

Whoa ... thank you! My work schedule has caused me to become behind on the series again but I've been setting the DVR timer to catch the shows while I'm gone. Very glad you warned me to change my timer settings!

After thinking about it...remember that the series was a few weeks late getting started in North America. All of the other KBS broadcast areas started it before we got it, and we were wondering what the deal was. So this must have something to do with KBS wanting to catch North America up to everybody else.
Presumably they have a good reason for doing it, but four hours a week is an awful lot to ask of the viewers, even for a short time. I hope they make sure it doesn't happen again.

P.S. mikey, as you're catching up, if you could fill in the piece I didn't catch in Episode 16, I'd sure appreciate it.

I was wondering if there is something coming up soon that will preempt the show for a couple of weekends, thus the need to front-end load now?

P.S. mikey, as you're catching up, if you could fill in the piece I didn't catch in Episode 16, I'd sure appreciate it. Well, this is ridiculous ... I was finally getting caught up with my JD episodes. My DVR is set to record the next-morning rebroadcast, and on Sunday March 30, my DVR recorded Episode 15. So far, so good. So, I fire up the DVD player to watch the next episode (recorded Saturday, April 5) and I'm seeing Episode 15 again? And the next morning (having reset the timer, knowing that the schedule had changed) it successfully recorded Episodes 17 and 18. Very disappointing! My only guess is that KBS went to the two-episode daily format that Saturday morning, and started with a rebroadcast of Episode 15 so as to not get ahead of the evening broadcast. Of course, since my DVR was only set to record for a single episode, I missed out completely on that terribly important Episode 16. In any case, very sorry! It seems that I can't fill the blanks on the Episode 16 summary. I'm still a little ticked that KBS sprung this new schedule on us with no warning, but I'm very grateful to you for the Episode 16 summary you've provided us with, even if it is, unfortunately, a little bit incomplete.

Quite all right; no problem. I've dealt with those kinds of frustrations myself and they're head-banging frustrating. You wonder why KBS doesn't make any kind of effort to be more informative about what's coming and when. Not like it would take a lot of time or expense.

Okay, and now we have another potential scheduling issue. Apparently the programming on all of the Korean networks was disrupted by news coverage of the ferry disaster. Which is totally understandable, of course. So depending on how much flexibility there is in the subbing work and the lag time for KBS World, we may have a weekend with no Jeong Dojeon a month or so from now. Not definite, but very possible.

The ferry coverage did run late, but LA showed both episodes last nite....however there were several drop out s in signal during both episodes.

I didn't explain that very well. I apologize. What I meant is that the episodes scheduled to air in Korea this weekend (remember they're several weeks ahead of us so somewhere around episode 38 or 40) probably did not air in Korea this week because of the news coverage. So in a few weeks when we're due to get them, we may not get anything, and the rest of the episodes will run a week later than expected.
Maybe not; it depends on whether or not the process of subbing them and preparing them for foreign broadcast is flexible enough or not. We'll see.

Well it did happen after all: no Jeong Dojeon on KBS North American channels this weeked. It must be because of the Koren TV coverage of the ferry disaster, like we talked about. Episodes 31 and 32 were postponed until the following weekend, and now they're a week late in getting processed and subtitled for us. So we get a week off.
And honestly, as good as this series is, after twelve episodes in sixteen days, I don't mind a break. See you guys next weekend.

We didnt see any announcement here in LA, just some odd panel show with something like "this day in history", yet they are talking about JD, LSG, founding of Joeson, etc. Wierd.
Glad to hear that it will be on next week.

Yeah there was no announcement here either; the panel show just appeared in the time slot. But I did check the posted schedule on KBS America's website and the panel show was listed, so it wasn't a mistake.
Gee I guess I shouldn't assume it will come back next week...I'll confirm that when the new weekly schedule gets posted, probably Monday.
