Ok, so that makes sense, but Arang seems to be so much more interested in meeting Joo Wal and seeing if he remembers her that I had thought they knew each other much more than that.

Do you remember when she first sees Joo Wal over the wall? Her heart starts pounding. She assumes it's from love, him being her fiancé and all. So she thinks the marriage arrangement was a love match or that she fell in love with him at some point. That is why she wants to meet with him so badly at first. But the heart can pound for more reasons than one. I don't want to give anything away but I think her heart could've started pounding at the sight of him from fear.

I remember that scene, but guessed that her heart pounded because she knew him before she had died, but did not remember him at this time. I thought they both were suffering from some kind of memory loss-- of course she is being called "Memory Loss" by the Magistrate and I thought Joo Wal was because he is being controlled by that evil/strange lady.... will have to wait and see what happens next... On a totally unrelated subject... LOVE your new avatar !!!!!! Just LOVE his eyes......

Aren't his eyes gorgeous??? Aren't they to die for??? In this one interview I saw he said when he first started out as an actor he was worried about his eyes because they didn't have the double fold and they were small. The interviewer asked him if he thought of plastic surgery. SJS responded yes, for a second he did think about it. The interviewer asked did his friends and families stop him and he said no, they actually pushed him to do it but that he decided not to. Thank heavens for that RIGHT decision!!! Can you imagine??? If you want to see those gorgeous eyes on full display watch "We Are Dating Now". He is absolutely beautiful in this drama. And he looks so young!!! Well, he IS young!!! I started watching this today, mainly because of SJS of course but it's actually surprisingly good. Many really funny moments - was laughing out loud quite a few times. One of those rare dramas where the mother and daughter actually look enough alike to believe they are mother and daughter. And the girl and her brother look alike too. I love that, when the family actually resemble each other. The brother is really cute too. Am really having fun watching it.

To answer your 1st question: YES! Answer to 2nd question: YES! Imagine him changing his eyes?: NO!!!! Finished Ep 10 this morning-- heard all about Joo Wal's past as he told it to Arang-- yes it was an arranged marriage -- Arang seemed sad to hear this. Things are starting to fall apart or come together-- guess it depends on who you are! Looking forward to see how it all comes together!

Wait a minute. If he returned to Australia before he died, how'd they get his heart??? Okay, you win a prize for the most enigmatic sentence ever. LOL. Good, fiona, I'm glad you are close to New York because if a star from Korea comes here, they're likely to go to NYC, don't you think? I wonder if you know about the Korea Society (this is a link). They used to post here sometimes, they were always having interesting goings on and films there. I'm glad you explained about already knowing Korean--I was thinking I must be a real dufus for not picking it up after all this time. However, when I watch Spanish-language shows, it only takes me a little while to figure out what they are saying because of the 6 years in school taking Spanish (even though when someone asks me a question on the street, I immediately forget every single word I ever learned in Spanish). So I hear you on the frustration of trying to talk to Koreans and being told you're inadequate. LOL. Although, I've never had a Spanish-speaking person be anything but thrilled that I was trying to understand/speak to them. As you say, native-born Koreans are forthright people as we know from watching their TV shows. Knov1, Windows 8 sux because I am constantly having to find ways to keep it from "helping" me. Right now, I'm trying to discover how to force it to stop asking me every single time whether I want my wifi device to work. YES I want my wifi to work! Geez. If I tell it not to ask me every time, it then leaves me wide open to other programs that want to make changes to my computer. I know I'll figure it out eventually, but it's annoying right now. Also, the interface is not intuitive in the least. I had to load a small program to give me the start menu again. Why the heck would they take off the start menu? It's just like Microsoft. "Oh, this is working well and people are used to it? Well then let's change everything around!" LOL. I'm sure I'll discover benefits once I get around all the cr*p.

Birdy, am waiting for you so don't start episode 12 of "Arang" without me. I had to bail on "We Are Dating Now". I really wanted to stick it out for So Ji Sub because he is sooo adorable in it but something happened around episode 8 (?) that made me totally exasperated by it. When characters start doing totally unreasonable things just so that a drama can be prolonged, well that spells disaster. For me anyway. Some dramas shouldn't be longer the 10 episodes, I swear. This drama would have been a gem if they had wrapped everything up around epi 9 or 10. And just in case any nonKorean-speaking fans wanna watch this, just a warning - the translation at Good Drama is really BAD. Thanks, Bo, for that link - you opened up a brand new world for me! I really had fun visiting and browsing. Actually quite a few possibilities for me - love going into the city and visiting museums. Wouldn't mind seeing one of those Korean art shows. And that Nine Muses film looks very interesting... but it's TONIGHT! Language is such a funny thing. I took French in school and I continued it into college so you'd think I'd be pretty good at it. Well a few years back friends and I took a trip up to Quebec and believe me, other than hi, how are you and have a nice day and a few other BASIC sentences, I was lost!!! Then a couple years back our hospital was really pushing nurses to learn Spanish. So I took a few courses as the hospital was paying for it and all. Well as I live and breathe, every time I would try to say something in Spanish, I found myself spouting out French words, words I never even knew I knew. It was very odd...

Don't worry I had trouble viewing this on Dramafever, so I went to Viki and their commercials are soooo long, I only got 1/2 way thru and my eyes are not behaving!!! Yes-- I love to bake, cookies, cakes, brownies, ect. I use to make some pretty awesome cakes for my kids b-day parties-- except when my daughter was 3 and I spelled her name wrong( as Rebbecca instead of Rebecca) and didn' notice it until I set it before her with all the family around and she said "Mom, you spelled my name wrong! Have a good night's rest.......

So I made it thru ep 12 this weekend, and here are some random thoughts... Every time I see Joo Wal from a distance I laugh because he looks like he is wearing a pink hanbok with polka-dots! It is only when you are up close that you can see a the circle design! I loved when the Magistrate was outside talking to Jo Wal and he comments about the supposed family building having a "musty" smell. I liked how Arang had the ghosts try to help them by being spies! The ability to see ghosts seemed so important at the beginning of the drama and lately they haven't been around much. I like that the magistrate is really getting into being The Magistrate and is confronting almost everyone. I'm liking the shaman character more, but don't like the scenes when she is with Dol Sue-- over the top corny. The scene on the bridge where Arang first sees Jo Wal was really beautiful. I think the Magistrate and Arang really go together well, they react to each other so well, great acting..... I like the music in this drama alot..... I do not really like the 3 guys that hang around the Magistrate's place-- it is like watching the 3 Stooges but it is not really funny...

Just finished up episode 12. It was really hard for me to get back into. I agree with you - the bridge scene was really beautiful, the lighting was so soft and I loved the way Arang was dress, and she looked so pretty. So it was a love match after all - SHE was in love with HIM. The magistrate was still cute as ever. He was so funny when he spoke in that stern voice in front of Excellency Choi and then laughingly said that's what he came to say. And he made me laugh when he was putting the new shoes on Arang and he tossed the old shoes over his shoulder. Why is it in movies when the guy buys anything for the girl (whether it be shoes, dress or ring) it always fits her to perfection??? To Ginnycat: you made someone very happy tonight. I was chatting with my mom on the phone and once again she started going on about this K drama she saw long ago and how for whatever reason she never got to see the whole thing. She really loved the few episodes that she did watch and she wants to see the rest... BUT she can't remember the title or who was in it or anything. All she does remember is that the title had the number 19 in it and that it was about a country girl coming to Seoul to get married. Now my mom has been saying this to me for a couple of months now and keeps telling me to keep an eye out for any title with the number 19 in it. Well, I had already searched and searched and couldn't find anything similar to what she told me. Well tonight when she was going on about it again a little lightbulb blipped on. When I was looking up all the titles on your list a while back I remembered that one of the drama's alternate title had the number 19 in it. I went back to your posting and BINGO there it was - Pure in Heart!!!! I called my mom back and asked, "Is the lead girl in this drama the same girl of Boys Over Flowers?" She thinks for a minute and says why yes, I think so. When I read her the synopsis she was so happy. She was like, "That's it, that's the one!!". Just got it over at eBay for her. So thank you for making my mom happy!!!!!
