Will Ji Young be able to pose, sashay and charm her way into saving the flailing company? - DramaFever
This series is set in the 1990's. Oh Ji Young (Lee Yeon Hee) was popular with boys in school. She even got some of them to take up smoking because she sold cigarettes. That popularity hasn't helped her much outside of school and she's worked several jobs, including as an elevator girl, to make ends meet. Ji Young appears confident about her looks to everyone but she's secretly self-conscious about her body.
Kim Hyung Joon (Lee Sun Kyun) and his band of friends have been crushing on Ji Young since their school days. Now, with their cosmetics company in danger of going under, Hyung Joon decides that making Ji Young the next Miss Korea is just what his company needs to turn their luck around. When he presents Ji Young with his offer, she turns him down.
What Hyung Joon doesn't know is that Ma Ae Ri (Lee Mi Sook) from Queen Salon also wants Ji Young to try out for Miss Korea. When he discovers this, he goes to Ji Young's house in hopes of changing her mind. Ji Young wants to change her life and seems intent on getting a boob job so she can become the next Miss Korea.
The series probably intends to go beyond the superficial nature of pageants but I found the characters shallow. 4 episodes have aired so far. I don't plan on watching the rest of the series. Since I watched the first 2 eps, I thought I'd post about that.
Sun Goddess has a shower scene about 47 mins into ep 1. Perhaps this will become a new trend in K-Dramas. Guys get shower scenes all the time. Women should too. You see, I'm all about equality lol.
