Ooh ooh, can't wait to see that one. Hope they don't take it down before I get the chance LOL. Yeah, the Jimmy Savile thing is disgusting all around. Sickening. It sounds like everyone knew about it and did NO-THING. They turned a blind eye to not just Saville but singers Rolf Harris (sun a rise ,tie me kangeroo down ) ,Gary Glitter (no surprise considering his criminal history )and popular DJ Dave Lee Travis ,not just turned a blind eye but helped cover it up . Actually i have lost so much respect for the BBC since this .

Thanks for posting that McGann video, sageuk--hadn't heard about it. I'm working my way through revival season 7 right now--it's what Chicago PBS is airing--so when I get to the end of it I'll watch it. We never saw a McGann regeneration, or got any backstory about how it happened. So this would understandably be a real shocker to people, for it to just turn up like this. Too bad they couldn't at least give the guy one full episode to do a proper story on it.

Was anyone here a fan of Zygons? Because they're back.... That guy does not look familiar at all. How weird.

The Loch Ness Monster story from Tom Baker's second season. The control panel with the sucker-things all over it? You'd remember it if you saw it. Blecch.
Great that they're going back and revisiting aliens we've seen one time before. Always enjoy that. There are others I'd have picked before them (especially the Vardans--geez the problems those guys present) but we'll see what they do with them. Maybe it will work.

I did see the Loch Ness Monster episode, but I don't remember it. Maybe it was too traumatic.
I watched Top Ten Rose moments. Hilarious--and oh. so. true. Especially the Continuing Adventures of River Song.

Reently TOm Baker has claimed that he's going to be appearing in the special.
“I am in the special,” Baker told The Huffington Post in an interview. “I’m not supposed to tell you that, but I tell you that very willingly and specifically; the BBC told me not to tell anybody but I’m telling you straightaway.”
THere's speculation over whether he's reprising the Fourth Doctor or if its just archival footage or another character entirely (there's a background female character wearing Four's trademark scarf btw)

Oh, and recently, a docudrama detailing the creation of Doctor Who when it was first made has been released, called Adventure in Space and Time, with David Bradley (Argus Filch and Walder Frey) playing William Hartnell, the first Doctor. I haven't seen it, but from the stills, it looked like Hartnell came back from the grave. It has received extremely positive reviews. Oh and here's this gem, in which old generation meets the new. Very sentimental, even though I'm not old school. * * * * * Looking at these two, I really get the sense that they're the same person despite different faces. EDIT: I have finally seen Adventure in Space and Time. Brilliant. Bloody brilliant. I highly recommend it! You can buy it on Amazon Instant Video or itunes.

This is one of the reasons that writer's son (suing for rights to Blue Box) has his nose out of joint. He thinks they didn't give his dad enough credit here.

The special hasn't aired in Chicago and probably won't for a while, since they're running the previous season now. So if you want to post about it, sageuk, you can start a spoiler thread for the series. That's the best option.

Well Id on't believe I spoiled anything other than my opinion on the special, if that can be considered a spoiler depending on how you look at it.
BTW, I really recommend An Adventure of Time in Space. I think you'd like it alot, ajk.

It is past Dec 25, and Matt Smith has departed. A worthy sendoff Last night (I think on ch. 11.2) Matt Smith was the Doctor, and he had a new companion!? I must have missed a few episodes. What happened to Amy Pond? (What happened to Rory? Did Amy ever get her baby back? Was it really her baby? I'm so confused.....)
