I'm skipping videos, too, ajk. I think all the Docs had their various charms. Even the new fellows. On companions, I have seen a couple early episodes. I did find the teachers an interesting choice and, of course, that guy (whosit--Ian I guess) was one of the few male companions. (I had forgotten about Captain Jack (Harnkess)--there was a lot of payoff from that character in the new series(s).) I think of the early shows as children's shows, but really there was a lot going on there on an adult level, like when Barbara became a goddess of the Aztecs (or was it the Mayans) and tried to change their culture of human sacrifice, to disastrous effect. Ah, good times.

Good call it was originally a children's show when it first aired .

Hard to believe now. Other Doctor Who related stuff outside of the TV show, in this case a fan comic called "The Ten Doctors", which is exactly what the title says. It was made and finished before Matt Smith took over, hence the lack of Eleven. The story is 247 pages long (plus a few extras along the way) and was posted from March 10, 2007 until May 27, 2009... so in a sense, it could be considered the "official" unofficial Doctor Who 45th-Anniversary Special. I read it, and found it really difficult to follow, part of it being me being a new WHovian, and becuase there's so many characters its really difficult to keep track of (the sketchiness doesn't help matters). Still its pretty fun read. The highlights are the interactions between the Doctors, of course. Here are some of my favorite parts: comics.shipsinker.com/?id=145comics.shipsinker.com/?id=24comics.shipsinker.com/?id=25comics.shipsinker.com/?id=274Same guy later made a Doctor Who crossover with James Bond, and Daleks vs Alien.

Well, well, well. SOMEBODY's being a little piggy. Why do relatives always pull this shate?
I'd even think it was more reasonable to ask for a set fee, if he thinks his father wasn't paid enough. Maybe that's what he's after.
However, I don't know if he'd have a case if he took it to court. It appears his father wrote the first script. They might be able to prove that invention of the TARDIS was a collaborative effort with the production team.

What a dirtbag. Nothing to worry about here. No possible way to establish the entire story after so much time has passed. The BBC will squash him like a bug.

Even though I'm new to Who, I'd really hate to see the blue police box replaced with a different image. Hopefully BBC is victorious.

Yeah, I don't think they're going to lose the image, but they might end up having to pay out, either in court costs or some blackmail to shut him up. They've clearly got the weight of longtime usage on their side and also, his "provisional permission" argument is kinda stinky, in a legal sense.
Yes, folks, "kinda stinky" is a legitimate legal term. Now You Know.

Wouldn't be the first time the TARDIS had a lawsuit dispute. When the BBC registered the TARDIS as a trademark in 1996, the Metropolitan Police challenged it, as the TARDIS is based on the police box they used in the 1960s. The Patent Office ruled in favour of the BBC, as the role of Doctor Who in the British collective psyche was so great that people identified the police box symbol with the series rather than with the police.

The BBC are in a world of hurt right now because of the Jimmy Saville sex scandal and their part in the cover up (you have to google this one ,but its big and will drag on for years ). So the last thing you need is more litigation . However those Police boxes were really common (though only the Doctors traveled through time and space ,hmm ) back in the 60's and 70's , even the interior design was subbed out to other sci fi shows including puppets ,so they really have a flimsy case.

If any one is a Paul McGann fan, I think you'll like this one.
In fact, the internet went crazy over this one.

Ooh ooh, can't wait to see that one. Hope they don't take it down before I get the chance LOL.
Yeah, the Jimmy Savile thing is disgusting all around. Sickening. It sounds like everyone knew about it and did NO-THING.
