---------------------------------------------------------
Moo Chul manages to stop the blade with his hand. He breaks the thug's arm and the guy bails. Moo Chul coughs up blood and collapses in front of Jin Sung. Jin Sung tries to carry Moo Chul to the hospital. Moo Chul dies on the way. A distraught Jin Sung can only yell his sorrows away. Soo is now standing outside the house by himself. Sun Hee, Lawyer Jang, Mira, Joong Tae and Jung Hyun are all in Young's room. Young needs to rest. A nurse is going to stay there. Before she leaves, Sun Hee tells Soo that Moo Chul died. Jin Sung called and gave her the bad news. He'll be cremated tomorrow. She doesn't want any condolences. Jin Sung and Hee Sun go to the morgue to see Moo Chul's body.
Soo stays by Young's bed side. Lawyer Jang goes to see Secretary Wang. He wants her to return to the house. She wouldn't dream of it. They watch her parents take a stroll. Jin Sung is with Moo Chul's buddy. Even if Soo and Jin Sung win the game they wouldn't be able to keep the money. Jin Sung needs to watch out for Boss Kim. Young's nurse leaves. It's just Soo along with Young now. She's awake but he's knocked out. She takes this opportunity to touch his face. Young remembers what Soo said on the phone about watching the video. She goes to the greenhouse. She reads the note he left in the secret room and watches the video he recorded. Soo was happy with Young. He hopes the surgery goes well. If they don't see each other again, he wishes her the best. If they do see each other, he wants to tell her how she's all that and a bag of chips. Young cries as she watches the video.
Soo comes downstairs looking for Young. She returns from the greenhouse. Young is hungry. Soo offers to make potato soup. He wants Young to stay where he can see her. He'll feel better that way. While Young eats, Soo comments that he's thinking about becoming a chef. Then they talk over tea. Lawyer Jang is on his way back to Seoul. Jin Sung and Hee Sun are moving to the countryside. Once Lawyer Jang returns, Young thinks Soo should leave. She's not ready to forgive and forget yet. If it's meant to be, they can meet each other again after the surgery. Soo should be prepared to answer Young's questions with the truth and nothing but the truth. Young wants to say her part now though. Soo and Young begin to cry as Young talks. She missed Soo after he left the house. Even as Young attempted to commit suicide, she hoped Soo would come and save the day. She has more to say but feels this won't be the last time they see each other. She'll leave the rest for later. Soo and Young kiss. They both say "I love you" and hug.
Soo puts Young to bed. When she sees him for the first time after the surgery, Soo hopes Young likes what she sees. Soo calls Secretary Wang from the hall and asks her to return to the house. She's the only one that can be trusted to take care of Young. Soo speaks with Lawyer Jang outside. Moo Chul's dead so his problems are over. Lawyer Jang will call Soo once Young goes to the hospital for the surgery. Young rings the bell in her window as Soo leaves. He rings the bell on his bracelet. The following morning Secretary Wang is back. Young couldn't be happier. Soo helps Jin Sung and his family pack things for their move. Jin Sung's father just drinks away. Young checks into the hospital. Sec Wang and Lawyer Jang are with her. She's prepared for the worst but hopes to live to fight another day. Sun Hee responds that the success rate of the surgery improves when the patient is positive. Sec Wang tells Young that she doesn't want her to be alone or hurt if she still can't see. She says she's sorry and hugs Young. If Young had realized sooner that Sec Wang loved her, she wouldn't have been so lonely.
Soo's game will be long. He'll head to Young's hospital after that. He'll meet up with Jin Sung and Hee Sun in the countryside later on. Jin Sung drives Soo to the game. Soo doesn't know that Jin Sung is playing too. Moo Chul's buddy is there too. The winner of the tournament will walk away with $7 million. Everyone will play with a partner except for Soo. He'll play by himself. Back at the hospital, Young stands by the window getting from fresh air. Soo looks at his watch and remembers that Young's surgery is scheduled for 8pm. Soo walks away from the table and thinks back to his last conversation with Young in the hall. Jin Sung calls out to him. Boss Kim tells Soo to play with Jin Sung. Soo isn't happy to see him there. Soo returns to his table. He can beat JinSung to a pulp later. All the losing players file out. Some of them are stopped by Moo Chul's buddy. Hee Sun helps Jin Sung's family pack the moving truck. Boss Kim has someone watching them.
Back to the game. Soo continues to fold even when he has a good hand. Jin Sung doesn't understand what he's doing. Neither do the other players and Boss Kim. If Soo loses, Boss Kim can't get his money back. Killing Soo and Jin Sung would almost be pointless for him then. He's already lost one of his clubs and Sora ran off with his money. Boss Kim is forced to join the game. It's the last round. Everyone is all in. Moo Chul's buddy took over the security room. If Soo or Shin, the other player, win, they want to make sure they can walk away safely. Soo looks at his watch. Lawyer Jang, Sec Wang and Mira watch Young go in for surgery. Sun Hee walks into the operating room and the surgery commences.
Boss Kim laughs like a madman. He thinks he's won. Shin walks away from the table in disgust. Soo grabs Jin Sung's hand and leaves. Jin Sung reveals Soo's cards. Straight flush. Soo won. Boss Kim is furious. Soo calls Mira for an update on Young's surgery. He's on his way. Boss Kim reveals that he's been watching Hee Sun and Jin Sung's family all along. They'll be harmed if Jin Sung doesn't kill Soo. We see Jin Sung's crossing an intersection as a truck approaches. Soo is talking to Mira on the phone when he is stabbed by Jin Sung in the abdomen. Soo asks Jin Sung "why?". Young is waiting for him. He attempts to get up and walk away. He thinks of Young as he collapses to the ground. Jin Sung can only sit there and cry his heart out.
Forward in time to the following spring. Young is with Lawyer Jang, Sec Wang, Myung Ho, Mira, Joong Tae, Jung Hyun and the kids from the community center. Some have their eyes covered to see what it's like to be blind. Myung Ho is enjoying the experience. Young is taking a cab somewhere. She wants the driver to let her off so she can walk the rest of the way. She decides not to use her cane. Someone wearing a similar bracelet to Soo's passes by Young on a bike. The ringing of the bell catches her attention. The person stops and briefly looks back at Young before continuing on. Now we're at the countryside. Jin Sung doesn't like Hee Sun getting rides from other guys on their bikes. They're gonna go see Soo tomorrow. They'll bring Lamb's Ear with them. Young is now at a cafe. There's a painting of a tree on the wall. Soo brings Young her tea. She comments about the nice weather. He asks if she can't see. She wonders if he's never come across a blind person before. He answers that a woman he once loved was blind. It might seem hard but it wasn't. He felt like she was always looking right at him. He asks again if she can't see. She says she can and looks right at him. She likes what she sees. Young knew it was Soo the whole time. Sec Wang spilled the beans. Young waited for Soo to be ready to talk to her. He was worried she wouldn't like him. He wants to them to "see" each other. Lots of cheesy smiles. Soo leans in and kisses Young. They stand on the sidewalk kissing and then look into each others eyes. The End.
---------------------------------------------------------
I don't tend to like K-Drama endings. This was no exception. Young attempted to commit suicide the night before. The following morning she's already being left alone. *face palm* I don't think Soo's video for Young really added anything. I'm not sure why Soo wanted Young to watch it so badly. When Soo and Young sit down to talk, she literally tells him "Yeah, I tried to kill myself but I knew you'd come for me". That sounds like a cry for help to me. Soo offers nothing in response. NOTHING. There was no "You should be strong and live on" or anything positive really. I think a message of support was more important than anything they talked about. I'll give Soo credit for taking the time to listen to what Young had to say. Sometimes that's all a person really needs. But, then Soo calls Sec Wang and asks her to come back. Because she's the only one that can be trusted to take care of Young apparently. The girl needs help. Sec Wang is not it. When Jin Sung stabs Soo, Soo is supposed to be heading to the hospital. Why was he on the roof? That didn't make any sense. But, hey, there was a happy ending... several months later.
I have a theory that this was like the LOST ending. They're all dead. They don't know it. Hope you all enjoyed the finale more than I did. Thanks for watching.
