SOLD AMERICAN! Shin Don it is. We won't start it for a while yet; my eyes could use a rest and I want to get that timeline assembled first. I'm thinking six weeks or so...so it will be sometime in July. Just keep checking back here every so often and I'll give plenty of notice.
I may not be able to do the detailed episode summaries I've done for the past few series; mainly depends on my work hours and how much free time I'm going to have. But we'll see; I'll at least do a basic outline of the main events. Besides, I started doing them to keep track of events that we lost track of during a long series and forgot about, but watching on DF with every episode available at once, as well as subtitle files online for searching, that's not as much of an issue any more.
Anyway, looking forward to a new one...especially one that most of you haven't seen before. Should be fun.

Yeh, and I'll look up that timeline on my computer at home. Sorry, I keep forgetting.
If you PM me with how to get it to you, I'd appreciate that.

Sorry to keep everybody waiting for more specifics. Here's the deal. I have a work-related research/writing project that's going to take up most of my free time and I'd like to have it done by July 15. I also want to get the timeline project going here before we start another series. So tentatively let's say July 19 or 20 for the first Shin Don episode. If I get into a time crunch I may have to push it back one more week to July 26/27, but it won't be any more than that.
Thanks for being patient with me and I'll keep everyone posted.

For AJKI found it I found it I found it! And I spent a few hours this morning updating the danged thing. I'm not sure if it's completely accurate, but I did do extensive "Wiki" research so it's not bad. (Wiki research isn't the greatest but it's what I have available here at work.) I had a half hour of pulling my hair out until I realized that there were two Taejos--the Wang Guhn one (Koryo) and the Lee Sung-gye one (Joseun). My original source material had conflated the two, stating that Wang Guhn founded the Joseun Dynasty in 1392. Right. Obviously, it's not complete, it is a mix of dramas I've never seen but everyone knows about (EWG) and dramas I've actually done reviews of (IYSS), and some dramas that caught my interest for other reasons, such as when that I know I'll never get to see them (Empress Myeongseong). Plus a timeline that I originally got from a King & I booklet, which I adjusted where I could see errors but obviously there are probably many others. One series that I'd really like to be able to see, which is gigantic, is the 500 Years of Joseun Dynasty series. Didn't know if you'd like me to add unavailable content, so I left them out. Here's the Wiki Drama Addicts page It's in Excel 97-2000, can you read that? Otherwise, I'll see if I can knock it into some other program. Just let me know where to send it, I can email to you if you want to give me an address via PM. We might have discussed this already, if so I apologize. moi PS - as a moderator, I can see an email address in your profile. Shall I send it there?

Either send it to me at that e-mail address, or attach it to a message in the admin board. Either way is fine. I'm out of commission for a few days anyway, so no hurry.

Aaaagh crap the drama wiki says there was a one year hiatus because of the controversy over" The Ume Tree In The Midst Of Snow "...hmmm so what was the controversy ?. So i looked on you tube for Ume Tree and er got this www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH71fd-CAU8&html5=1Anyway the controversy was two fold one was depicting King Sejo's coup in a very positive light and as being needed ,the second controversy was Yonsan beating Queen Insoo to death which recent dramas on this subject have glossed over . Lee Byun Hoon wrote the whole thing ,Choi Myon Gil made her debut in Ume and was also in the next drama a year later and came back near the end to help send hubby to the grain box .

MTR, are you talking about the 500 Years of Joseun Dynasty series?
Am I supposed to get what I got when I clicked that? Sorta felt like I was being rickrolled. LOL...

I've never watched this drama, but I don't think I'll watch this since there are going to be three dramas covering the same era in the near future.
This year : MBC Hwatu
Next year : MBC Heaven Breaking Emperor, KBS Jeong Dojeon

Ume Tree Truth covers the same era as that recent drama Queen Insoo from the usurpation of Sejo through the reign of Yonsan . Yes Bo its the second drama in the 500 years series .
So there was a Cyril the squirrel in a Ume Tree and i got the wrong Ume Tree .
