Oh Yeon Gae Somun is also on you tube complete but no subs .

It amazes me that the networks who produced these shows aren’t doing anything to get them taken down from unpaid sources. The shows sit out there online and unauthorized for years with no revenue to the networks. Especially KBS--they cranked up their rights fees and screwed over their loyal viewers, but they leave all of that potential revenue uncollected. Brilliant.

Good to find this group. I love Korean Dramas. I have Sejong drama, but wanted to see "Tears of the Dragon" first, since it is the prequel, I read. I don't trust my Korean to understand much of it without subtitles. A one person job would be asking too much. Really, it would need at least 10 people. If you look at the jobs on a Korean sub site, like S2: withs2.com/subtitles-statusthey split up the subbing into five areas. You would want maybe two teams simultaneously working on consecutive episodes. I watched one show where one guy/ girl was subbing it, and it was like a month or two between episodes. It wasn't too popular, so imagine how many emails they would get if it was popular, bugging them to hurry up. For free no less!! S2 has a premium service. I asked them by email if they could do it as a special project, but didn't back. Maybe if enough people asked, they would make it worth their while. They are one of the best...

Just to give you a little background...we had a KBS America outlet here in Chicago for a number of years and got to see all of the KBS dramas. Then in 2009 they pulled the plug on it and left us stranded (and very angry). We've been hoping they'd come to their senses and return, but so far they haven't, and that's why we're using DramaFever now. We did just get a new station here broadcasting MBC programming, and as they settle in and as we get used to their schedule, we may do some boards for shows on that station if it works out. But we'll still keep doing things from DramaFever.
Sejong is outstanding, by the way. If Tears isn't available any time soon with subs, it's no problem to watch Sejong. They give some background on the earlier events--enough that you know what the context is.

It is funny Gwaggaeto was up on You Tube subbed and it was pulled ,Tears may not last long ,someone was uploading Age Of Warriors and that was pulled in two weeks . I can only guess that because Tears is from the Korean History Channel broadcast it may be under the radar for now .

Ahhhhh, an old-school historical. Even minus the subs, looks interesting. And it's always fun to watch these shows and try to identify actors from previous dramas.
Episode 1 - so far none of the crap that KBS is putting into their current historicals (except for an exceptionally wimpy-looking king). Presumably he will not be around much longer. Do I detect the magnificant Chung Jung Bu from AOW? And a very very young Choi Ung from EWG? Never can remember the actors' names...
Seeing the generals in their fur-lined helmets made me nostalgic for Yi Soon Shin.

I'm looking for this drama for months but havent got a chance to watch yet.No subs is okay. Trust me, you do not want to watch it. The drama should be called Emperor Yang of Sui instead of YGSM as he is basically the main character. Almost Half of the show focuses on Emperor Yang and the other half is about Kim Choon Chu and Shilla. The show does a horrible job of describing Goguryeo at the time as it takes its elements from a forged fantasy history book called Hwandan Gogi which claims that Goguryeo conquered half of China at the time and received tributes from Afghanistan, India, etc. That being said, it actually does a descent job of portraying the actual history of Sui, Tang, and Shilla even though the drama is called YGSM. I mean, the Kim Choon Chu from this drama is much closer to historical KCC than the Saint Kim Choon Chu from King's Dream(The best KCC in my opinion is MBC Gyebaek version by the way). However, it has horrible CG's such as three thousand concubines falling off the waterfall and YGSM rising to heaven on a giant three-legged crow. And as if those weren't enough, there are many scenes of young YGSM and his buddies standing in front of cardboard palaces. I give the drama a 1 out of 5. There is a reason why DJY was victorious over YGSM in the ratings war. (They aired on same time slot.)

Not to mention the Goguryeo warriors looked like Vikings . It does have some really interesting parts ,one where he is a Shillan Slave and you see all these pagan fertility dances and rituals ,its trying to make Shilla look like one big Roman orgy but i much preferred it to more recent dramas . I will try and find the link Hung And here it is . www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TsZZ8qcvks

thanks truth and DYC for your answers. mp3.topso1.com/playlist/The-King-Dae-Jo-Young-OST/EZF0EU0-0.htmlbtw, I've just found this site having full 19 songs of DJY's OST but it doesn't include the English titles to the songs. If you know about them, please let me know too as I will have this drama's ost playlist uploaded to youtube.

This show is a bit challenging without subs, isn't it? I wish the lighting was a little less historically accurate. I'd rather have some artificial lighting and accept the dramatic license than watch scene after scene at night with nothing but a candle and 90% of the room in darkness. Or maybe my eyes are getting old...
