Complete but No subs the link is to the final episode 160 and if one of our fine members who can speak Korean can track it back to ep 1 that would be great . Subs or no subs this is the only chance to see it and the episodes are complete ep 160: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v06XO_entw8ep 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU-qD-As4xgMod note: Edited title. Added link for episode 1. Much easier to find rest of episodes if you start from the beginning.

Wow, now there's a piece of news. Somebody find some subtitles and we'll do it here! Glad to hear the thing still exists--you wouldn't know it from KBS. Same with EWG for that matter. Heard a lot of good things about this one, plus, the same actress who played Queen Wongyeong in GKS played her in this one and she was phenomenal in GKS.
Thanks for the tip and we'll see if anything more comes of it.

The only option is someone who understands Korean and hs editing software in order to add subtitles, but who has the time to translate 150 hours of footage?

Thanks dear Mod for finding ep 1 i was kinda pressed for time , Anyway subs or subs just happy to find it ,i think this is our only chance to really ever see it . On translating it does take like 15 hours to sub a 90 min movie ,and translating one episode could take a day . Noticed it is on the History Channel in Korea who must have leased it from KBS ,shame they could not show it here but it would never be as popular as Ice Road Truckers or Loggers sadly .. It also has one of the best soundtracks ever !!!!! here is a 6 min version of the main theme www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1O0H_49G2Uand here is the secondary theme which is also stunning and beautiful www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdfS5TkOCrI

A lot of people seem to put a lot of time into fansubbing...I agree, not sure anybody would do it for an older historical as long as 160 episodes. But let's hope.

Tears of the Dragon is still my favorite historical drama. I have the final episode on VHS (somewhere).

I just watched Ep 1 ,this will be a labor of love because for the most part it seems pretty talky considering its unsubbed , but hey !!! its the most wanted Saguek on everyone's watch list and i do not think it can be found with subs . I did research it once and found it was subbed in Hawaii by the TV Station that aired it , In Southern California it was shown unsubbed (did not air in Northern CA ) do not know about other areas ,im guessing unsubbed unless the Hawaiian station leased it .

Only way it might get done is if someone set up a web site asking for volunteers to work on the project and had a paypal donate button to give the people some kind of incentive. It would take probably over two years to complete all the subs.

Hey, that's not a bad idea...wish I knew Korean or I'd start it myself. It's too bad KBS isn't smarter about these things; they should really spend the money to do it themselves and they'd more than make it back in DVD sales and online license fees.
Thanks for joining us, by the way; always glad to have a new member. Wish we had more going on for you at the moment, but hopefully things will get more active again before too long.

;D Truth, that would be wonderful if you could do it and I know I for one would be willing to pay a fee for your services. And we all know that yoou KNOW how to speak and translate the KORAN LANGUAGE into English subs Besides, if you did that, we could really depend on your subs for the REAL translations - hmm something to think about . . .

It does really need subs ,although some parts are easy to figure out what is going on its when you get to the various plots and debates you need subtitles , the good news is the last part or last few episodes were redone in Sejong so you are just seeing the original version . Sejong was actually a total sequel to Tears because both dramas are actually a famous book split into two dramas .

Whoa I was half-joking when I wrote that comment. I did not see these kind of comments coming
I don't know how much I would charge for the rate. I've never made subtitles before, so I don't have the necessary software either.
