I guess it speaks volumes to the power of Kim Tae Hee that people would watch this so soon after Dong Yi ,she was smart enough to duck out of the Iris sequel and do this instead . Though this seems to be aimed at the Sun/Moon Sunkyungkwan audience ,it does seem to have more going for it than i thought though .

Given that IRIS 2 had to compete with That Winter, The Wind Blows and Level 7 Civil Servant, I'm not sure that Kim Tae Hee would have affected the ratings much. So, Dong Yi is evil in this drama? Yes.

Prince Yoon (JOJ's son) gets smallpox in ep 23. Jang Hee Bin and her mother bring in a shaman to "pray" for his recovery. Choi Suk Won sees them. Prince Yoon recovers. Queen In Hyun dies from an unknown illness. Choi Suk Won accuses Jang Hee Bin of praying for QIH's death in ep 24. She plants evidence to make Jang Hee Bin look guilty. King Sukjong is forced to order Jang Hee Bin to die by drinking poison. He asks Chi Soo to secretly help Jang Hee Bin escape to China. Jang Hee Bin returns to the palace and drinks the poison anyway. She wants to prove how much she loves King Sukjong. Jang Hee Bin dies in King Sukjong's arms. Since it's the final episode, I included a couple of screen shots of Jang Hee Bin's death. The series went how I expected. Jang Hee Bin was portrayed as someone misunderstood due to her love for the king. She got caught up in a power struggle, which led to her death. Choi Suk Bin is the main villain. She's only Suk Won here but the series does tell you that she later becomes Bin.

The film Shadows In The Palace (2006) also depicted Hee Bin in a sympathetic light in so much as the Royal Harem was such a cut throat atmosphere that a concubine had to be ruthless to survive , like this it also dealt with conspiracies to frame Hee Bin .
