I don't know. What's most important is to protect the integrity of the shrine. If Seokpum gets in, then what about the pink Hwarang from the Bijae? Or Santak the annoying Hwarang? Where do we draw the line? Perhaps they were all hitting rocks a thousand times a day. There has to be a reason Santak has managed to last this long. I vote no to Seokpum this time around. Maybe on the 3rd ballot he should be allowed in.
I vote no. Since I don't know how the other Hwarang earned the honor, I can't compare him to others who got in. But I do know that the Hwarang swore to serve king and country. As he himself put it, the only thing Seokpum knew how to do was serve Mishil.
I voted yes, with "asterisk" (LOL). He served king and country his whole life, his motivation for doing so was not important. Whether you do good is what matters, not why.
Maybe they need a separate, lower shrine level.
From Dae Jang-geum: Sun-dol: "Are you trying to dry me up and kill me? Why do you say the same things over and over every day? Rather, come and hit me once! Aigu!" But then: Dr. Lazarus: "By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan... You shall be avenged."
I still haven't voted on this because after thinking about it, I don't think we know enough about that shrine. The only other specific person whose plaque we know is in there is Chilsuk. Mishil put his plaque there after it was assumed he was lost--hunting down a princess to destroy the royal family. And that guy gets a plaque?
I certainly would lean to voting no; once you put a guy's head on a stick that pretty much sinks his reputation. But if there are other disgraced Hwarang in there, then maybe he's no worse than some of them.
